I just purchaced the Mopar Kit off of ebay (cheap). The stock lift pump was starting to act up and I was planning on purchasing a Glacier system... . but then the new 09 body style popped up on the internet and I decided I may not have my current truck long enough to justify the cost of the Glacier system :)

I was looking through the install instructions tonight and it has a ECM reflash section. I can't imagine why this would be needed. Does anyone have any experience with this install. Did you have the ECM reflash done.

I hate to tear down the truck down in my garage then find out the reflash is necessary and then need to tow the truck to the dealer.....

Thanks for the help.

As far as I know, the reflash is done to reprogram the ECM to turn on the fuel pump for 30 seconds when the key is turned to "RUN".

The old programming (which I have) only runs the fuel pump for 2 seconds when the key switches to RUN. That means, for example, if the WTS light is on and you sit there for 15 seconds waiting for the grid heaters to finish preheat, the fuel pump is off for all but the first 2 seconds.

The new logic was done, in my opinion, to help ensure the CP-3 has good inlet fuel flow at startup.

If you fail to reflash the computer, the truck should still run and start fine.

Thanks Ryan for the help.

I also recieved a PM from another member who has installed this kit without a reflash and is running fine.

Seems safe do do the install anyway without getting stranded and needing towed.

My LP was dealer replaced without a reflash. Turn to on and bump the starter and the LP runs for about 30 seconds just like before.
