Hey All,

I have just purchased a '05 short box. I am going to put an over the rail toolbox in the truck. On page 151 of the '05 owners manual there is a statement that reads as follows, "If you are installing a toolbox to the front of the pickup box, you must use Mopar toolbox brackets available from your dealer".

I ordered the brackets as listed on the Mopar accessory website, part number 5018124-AA, from a local dealer . The kit did not come with instructions. The dealer called around and the other dealers who had the kit in stock could not find instructions in their kits either.

Here is my question: Has anyone had these brackets installed or installed them themselves? I am not sure where Dodge wants the "L" brackets to be installed in the bed. The rest of the hardware is self explanatory.

Thanks in advance for any insight you guys can provide.

Ryan,

Yes I can post some pictures. Hopefully, I will have a chance to post them tomorrow. I just got got my truck back from the dealer today. The dealer had the truck for 2 weeks to replace the G56 trans that had 400 miles on it! :(

I briefly looked at the brackets and the truck bed today. I believe I know what Mopar intended for a mounting location of the brackets. If someone else does not chime in, I will call Mopar tech support on Monday to get the straight answer on the mounting location for the brackets.
