Towing w/after market air intake

I was looking at the MOR/ryde rubber shear springs. Not to be confused with the Velvet ride shackles. Has anyone experience with this setup? The sales person (naturally) states it makes the truck ride better than a car. Remains to be seen. Thanks

I have never included a link so I'm unfamiliar on how to do that. Try this:

www.morryde.com

Click on products, then I think "suspension" then tow vehicles. Wish I could do it better but it is the "RL" system.

I had the 'RL' system installed about a year ago. It does a good job of smoothing out the rough interstates and rough roads in general. It does not do much of anything for me when loaded as I have the Airlifts and that takes over most of the suspension when inflated. They are kinda pricey, but so was the diamond plated running boards!

The "jarring" action is what I was trying to remove, the truck rides pretty stiff when empty. I think the look like they would do the job better than the Velvet Ride Shackles. Thanks

Be aware of the fact that if you have an after market exhaust it will have to be cut short for this to fit. They did not tell me before hand and I went ballistic when I saw what had been done. If you have stock exhaust you are ok. Otherwise find out what THEY are going to do about it.

I have the factory exhaust, so that shouldn't be an issue, but it would have made me irritated if I had to cut off an expensive aftermarket unit. Is there a cross bar of some sorts that connects the two sides? It was hard to tell from their diagram.

There is, but it is behind the spare. It is the huge block of rubber that replaces the spring shackle. I purchased a 20 something inch 5" exhaust tip from Summit and had to pry the exhaust pipe and do some funny stuff to make it go thru the hole left for it. The exhaust tip still is resting against the backing (Metal plate) for the rubber. Probably one day it will wear thru and I'll replace it with a 4" so there will be more room. But for now the 5" looks cool. :>) Also the bar that goes across is a problem for the spare if you have an oversize tire. My factory was 215R and this spring I replaced them with 235R and the spare will not go in. This is also hampered by the oversize Dana 80 cover. Probably if you jacked it up all the way (until the whells hang) it might go in. But do I want to have to do this on the road in case of a flat? Not quite. So for now it is chained in the bed of the truck.

That's good to know about the spare, I carry a cabover camper which makes it difficult enough as it is now. I run 235's stock, so I'd have the same issues.

Thanks for the heads up.
