More Audible Turn Signal Clicker?

I,m always leaving the turn signal on. I can,t hear it very good. Old ears and loud truck. I think theres a louder replacement clicker available. Anybody know anything about this?

Just curious, how come it stays on? Is the signal switch in the steering wheel broken?

No lane changes where the turn signal does not turn off on its own.

They are available at auto stores. I had one on my 86 van and it was taller than the stock and would not fit in the Dodge with the cover plate. Check the height if you buy one.

How about LED's

Last year at May Madness,I visited with gentleman with a cabover camper on his truck. I forgot his name anyway he had

installed real bright LED's in the upper corner of the dash. Left and right side of speedometer in the dash overhang(?). Looked neat and he said he could see them well.

You kin wire a 12v sonalert ala RadioShack across the contacts that see 12v to ground on the flasher itself. You haven't modified the truck 'cause you can plug in a new unit. It's pretty loud through the plastic hatch on the side of the dash. It will NOT sound when the 4-ways are on - pretty convenient. The covers on the plastic flashers sleeve off pretty easily.

No sig, can't remember what year truck you have. If it is previous to 2000, then loud flashers are available.

Turn Signal

Like Diesel said, go to Radio shack and get a "chime" sells for somewhere between $9 -$10. Installs with the pins of the existing flasher. Just stuff wire in with the pins. Have used this on two trucks with good results. Wife no longer has to tell me to turn of turn signals.

If you really want to spend some money there are rear view mirrors available with led flashing turn arrows hidden under the mirror glass. Work excellent for the person cruising in you blind spot to see your intensions and easy for you to see if they're on. They are available for our trucks for around $225.

Make sure you get the single tone chime. The two tone chime does not work as it gets out of sequence with the flasher. Also, If it is too loud, just put a piece of tape over the hole in the chime. You can adjust the volume that way, and it's real easy to do. .

I saw a product advertised a while back called a "Turn Signal Minder". It activated an alarm after the turn signals were left on for (??) seconds. It was not activated, however, if the brake lights were on, so if you are sitting at a traffic light you don't have to listen to the alarm, or the constant annoying beep of an extra loud signal.

I think the ad is filed here somewhere..... if I find it I'll send you the info. Should have bought it when I first saw it.
