Ok, still waiting on my BHAF to come in. It's been on order for 2 weeks.

The salesman at the truck parts place told me he had a part # that is the BHAF (19037) but with a housing around it.

If anyone would want to put a scoop and hose to the BHAF, he told me that this could be connected to this housing. Hummmm forced cold ram air from under the bumper?:D

I just thought someone could maybe make use of this part #

1196 fleetguard. It was "about $50. 00".

BHAF fits pretty snug.....

I'd be curious if you could even fit a housing under the hood. Anyway a pic of the product when you get it would be great.

I didnt order it. I found out about it when I called to see if my AH19037 was in. He gave me the deminsions as 11. 88" high. 10. 5" OD, but I didnt write them all down.

If you go to fleetguard.com, and do a search, you'll come up with this pic and a little info about it.

Bad part number?

Eric, I couldn't get the Fleetguard site to accept the part number listed, 1196, could you recheck the number and repost.

Thanks, Ronnie

Here is what Fleetguard said about the 1196:

Thank you for contacting Fleetguard

Forrest, The AH1196 is a disposable Air Cleaner and a

direct replacement for Donaldson ECC elements. The end opening

inside Diameter is 4" and the end opening height is 1. 38".

The overall height of the element is 11. 88" and outside diameter

is 10. 5".

The rated flow for this element is

400CFM @ 4" H2O

500CFM @ 6" H2O

590CFM @ 8" H2O

Most Manufacturers rate air flow at 6" H2O

Duh

Well, as Forrest knows, you gotta put a "AH" in front of the 1196.

This could be the perfect BHAF, I wish mine wasn't doing so great so I could justify buying the new and improved with factory housing, AH1196.

Someone needs to buy this baby and give a report.

The CFM seems low.....

If I recall right the original BHAF flows quite a bit more air. Where does the air come into that housing from. The outlet size was stated as 4" but where does the air come from???

Lotsa questions. And I do have to agree it would be hard to change as mine works so good.

BHAF + Canister AH1196

Here is what a Fleet Pride rep told me over the phone, I am going to try to go look at one this afternoon at the local branch if they have one to see if it will fit under the hood.

The AH1196 is a BHAF (AH19037) sealed inside a plastic canister.

It has approx. 12 holes in the base of the canister where you attach the filter to the turbo intake hose. Should protect the filter very well; however, it sounds like it will cut down on the air flow quite a bit. There may be a way to add addtional holes or modify the canister to accept air from the snorkle and/or fender opening.

Should be a few bucks more than the AH19037 alone.

The truck parts guy made it sound like there is no hole.

Still a decent idea if youre planning on going swimming with your truck.

Those dimensions sound familiar.

Eric, that sounds pretty close to the moparguy filter in size. I measured my NAPA version once but don't recall the specifics. I would think though that the turbo heat would need to be shielded with the enclosed filter.
