Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) More boost?

Someone told me a different methos of raising the boost that usually can't be found by the dealer.

You drill a 1/16th hole thru the hardpipe to the wastegate actuator. He claimed it let off the pressure to raise the boost, wasn't noisy or noticable. If more boost needed, drill another hole or enlarge the first.

Has anyone heard of this or done it?

Sounds Kinda dumb to me. Why not just plug the tube rather ruin it by drilling a hole in it.

Unless you get more fuel to the engine more boost won't do anything.

This is something Banks has you do on some of their kits... see the latest TDR mag wher they put all those Banks goodies on, one of the things they did was the hole you're talking about.
