This must be an old law, but does it now apply to modern kids with rings in their noses, to prevent them from 'rooting' in dumpsters?

And then there is always the exception to the rule, and I was shocked and delighted to learn that there is still one state in the Union where a law abiding citizens second amendment rights have not been totally oppressed my Uncle Sam.

Vermont is the only state where firearms carry of any kind (open or concealed) is properly viewed as a right not subject to state regulation. Individuals may carry handguns on their person in a concealed or open manner. Vehicle carry is viewed in the same light as any other carry. Residents and visitors from other states may carry a concealed, loaded handgun in their vehicle provided the firearm is not carried with the avowed purpose of injuring someone.

Rifles and shotguns carried in a vehicle may be carried openly or concealed. However , due to hunting considerations, long guns of any type must be unloaded.

This law is uniform throughout the entire state.

There are several other states that have decent gun laws, unlike The Peoples Republik of Kalifornia. If you want a shock, check the gun laws for the Armpit of the Nation, Washington DC.

In Atlanta (but I'm not sure about the rest of GA), it is illegal to tie a giraffe to a telephone pole.

In Godley, TX, the town I work in, it is illegal to fire a gun across the street. However, it is perfectly legal to shoot up and down the street.
