Bought an Orange diesel and ... lost it...

6-speed auto Allison for GM

This wouldn't be such a big issue except for the incredible affinity humans have for living in their own filth. People build bigger and bigger cities, with more and more people wandering around soaking in the byproducts of their own emissions, breathing each other's air, drinking treated sewage, etc etc etc. Apparently we like living on top of each other enough to offset the minor downsides like crime, chaos, filth, crowding, and early deaths.

Europe is convinced that OVERALL pollution is less with Diesels than Gasoline engines. Only one pollutant,NOX,is higher with Diesel than with gasoline engines. Europe also subsidizes the purchase of Diesels and their fuel as desirable to decrease overall pollution.

Does it not stand to reason that a fuel that goes further per gallon is also produces less pollution?. Also, there is an environmental impact in the energy and material it takes to build a new car or truck with a service life of less than half what our trusty Diesels can be expected to maintain. Kinda hard to measure that on a chart
