Your plate is beyond the rack travel and not doing you much good. The 191 DV's increase low end power and smoke but do nothing at the top end. You have a small pump and it and the stock injectors can only flow a limited amount of fuel without some pump mods. With what is in your sig. you will smoke as you state, but as far as fast no way will this truck be fast. It may be able to keep up with a stock 96 but that is about all.

Well, in that case I guess I am happy, my truck smokes my buddies stock 96 5 spd.

What do you mean by "beyond rack travel"? I'm having a tough time finding pictures and description of how these pumps work. If I knew how they worked, I could get it to work the way I wanted. I have a rough idea of how they work, but that doesn't do me much good.

FWIW - With my #5 plate in the stock location the governor lever was ok - when I slid the #5 full forward the governor lever would slide right under the plate... . I adjusted it where it would strike the #5 on the nose and that made a big difference. .

I have played with the AFC and the added fuel has helped the low end lack of power a good bit, and it boosts faster.

With the #5 slid forward all the way, the lever hits just under the tip of the ramp, but Piers says that's OK.

The stock rack has about 18 - 20 mm of travel max. A modified pump can have 23mm of travel. If the plate is too far forward the fuel control arm can't follow the plate as it is beyond what the rack can travel. It is very rare that a full forward plate is actualy the optimum position if you have the correct plate, and the AFC is set properly. Check with Joe D. , Jim Fulmer, and others in the higher HP trucks.
