I'm currently running DDII's with a HX40 (see sig for details) and I would like to get to a combo of more injector and less fueling box conditions for daily driving. I am now running on 3x3 all the time and settings 4 and 5 alot for fun. EGT is fine. I rarely tow anything, if I do it's less than 3 or 4k (again, very rarely). Can I step up to a Mach 4 injector (70 hp more than my current injectors) and just leave the box off or only use the first or second setting on the box? This should result in about the same amount of fuel thus the same EGT reading correct? Personnally, I think the EGT might drop if more of my fuel is due to a larger injector instead of the box. Does't a comp just add more fuel during a second injection window (slightly later in the combustion cycle)?

With my current setup, new turbo and exhaust manifold, it really flows the air. With the box off it seems alittle under fueled and takes longer to spool. With it on 3x3 it's great, level 4 or 5 and its off to the races.

What are your thoughts?

I'm aiming for smoother idle, smoother throttle engagement, and a longer life for the VP44. All of this stems from the characteristics and my understanding of the edge comp.

I run Mach 4 injectors and the catcher ecm, dynoed at 401 Hp and can not get get egts over 1200 pre turbo running empty.

Towing a 30' 10K+ 5er I need to leave it out of overdrive more do to egts because boost drops in overdrive and egts increase.

The mach 4's rated at 150Hp are unbelieveable for power, low egts and very low smoke.

You are correct at looking at more hp via injectors instead of electronics IMO

Sure. I run an injector in my truck that's a bit hotter than a Jammer 3, but not quite a 4 (test unit) and it makes 411rwhp without the Comp. This is an HO truck though, so they respond a little better to injectors. With the comp, it makes 511rwhp.

The mother of all power adders, injectors.

I have Don M's Mach six in my truck, no EGT / Smoke / MPG problem at all!

I can turn the TST box on, get more power than what my stock HG could take

( I have to let out ) and still no more than 1300°F. I don't tow anything, all those #'s are unloaded.

My turbo is like yours, a simple and cheap HX-40 which is now in it's fifth year of daily abuse.

I say go for it but don't stop with 4's... :-laf

I am curently running DD #1's with the edge Comp. I would like to upgrade to the catcher and a larger injector with out EGT woe's as I pull everyday. My EGT's can hit 1250 real fast on the hills and at 70 on flat gropund I see 800 to 850 with a load. Any recomendations are welcomed.
