I'm currently running DDII's with a HX40 (see sig for details) and I would like to get to a combo of more injector and less fueling box conditions for daily driving. I am now running on 3x3 all the time and settings 4 and 5 alot for fun. EGT is fine. I rarely tow anything, if I do it's less than 3 or 4k (again, very rarely). Can I step up to a Mach 4 injector (70 hp more than my current injectors) and just leave the box off or only use the first or second setting on the box? This should result in about the same amount of fuel thus the same EGT reading correct? Personnally, I think the EGT might drop if more of my fuel is due to a larger injector instead of the box. Does't a comp just add more fuel during a second injection window (slightly later in the combustion cycle)?
With my current setup, new turbo and exhaust manifold, it really flows the air. With the box off it seems alittle under fueled and takes longer to spool. With it on 3x3 it's great, level 4 or 5 and its off to the races.
What are your thoughts?
I'm aiming for smoother idle, smoother throttle engagement, and a longer life for the VP44. All of this stems from the characteristics and my understanding of the edge comp.
