Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) wastegate ideas

I just received a test gauge from Black Mountain Diesel (Great people, very satisfied customer). After going through the usual tests etc. I see that I need a new lift pump. I have researched the install and dont think that it will be an issue. What I need to know is where you fellas are getting the replacement pumps from. I called the "dealer" for a price, but he told me $380. 00.

When I reminded him that I wanted a lift pump, and not a kilo of cocaine, he said,"Oh, O. K. , that'll be 380. 00. " Im not a hundred percent sure, but I'll bet someone from the TDR can hook me up with a better price. Thanks in advance, Ryan

The truck is a 98. 5 24v 4x4 3500. The lift pump was changed three times under warranty... ...

I think I ended up spending $173 for the pump, pigtail and 10 banjo washers w/sales tax in Houston from Cummins Southern Plains two weeks ago. The install took 1 hour from engine shut off to restart. I was taking my time.

Looks to me like the easiest way to get to it is to remove the fuel filter and housing. That is what I did anyway.

The part no for the lift pump from cummins is 3990105 $148. 13

The banjo bolt sealing washers are 3963983 $. 53

Cummins NPower in St. Paul MN

I'd be willing to bet any Cummins dealer prices should be right in there.

That was on last Friday the 5th, (December '03)

I removed my filter housing to replace it for the second time now, very simple job.
