My husband (Tom) and I picked up my new Mega Cab at Dishman Dodge today. It joins the rest of our fleet--a '97 and '01 (both his) and my '99 (which our daughter will be driving soon). All three of those trucks had been purchased in Montana, where we live. Because of the comments of others on this forum, my husband contacted Adam, and we were not disappointed!

Adam is just fabulous. Today was his day off but he came in anyway to meet us and deliver the truck. He's been terrific to work with throughout the whole process--he always let us know what was happening, worked around my vacation schedule, and had a great sense of humor. It was worth the four-hour drive.

I just love the truck. I love the truck. Is it possible to love a truck so much?

We'll definitely call Adam next year when it's my husband's turn to get a new truck.

The title of that thread is supposed to be "More members of Adam's fan club. "

Tom,

Congrats on the Mrs. ' new rig! :)

If you are a member of TDR, you can "edit" the post, using the button at lower part of your screen,... and then delete the one I quote above.

That's a nice looking rig there. Looks like mineral gray which was the only other color I was interested in besides the one I got ;)

Jason

I'll post pics of the TRUCK today, after I take some. I was too tired last night to do much more than sit and just stare at my new truck.

Wow, does it ever drive nice. I got the 6-speed and it shifts so smoothly. It's got an exhaust brake, too, which was fabulous driving over the passes and coming down the grades. The cab is HUGE and I kept yelling into the back seat to check and see if my younger daughter was still there. :) This is the truck I wish I had had ten years ago.

Jason, the color is kahki. We already have a black one, a white one, and a red one. I liked the mineral gray, too, but I figured this color wouldn't show the dirt as much.

Do you people get a kick back from Adam or Dishman for posting these free ad's for them. Just wondering because I have sure seen a lot of them and they they all sound the same.

No kickbacks--although my kids did like that they put my name on the reader board in front of the dealership. :-laf

Why shouldn't we post about our good experiences with a salesperson? Good service is hard to find these days. And I think others would be quick to post if they had a BAD experience with a dealer or salesperson.

I test drove a Mega Cab at the dealer we bought our other three trucks from, and told the salesman we were just about ready to buy. You'd think the guy would have been on the phone to us every day to see when he could expect to close the sale. My husband called him with some questions, and he never bothered to call back and answer them. My husband called Adam and he responded right away. Guess who got our business? I heard from Adam via e-mail or phone AT LEAST once a week during the two months it took to order the truck and take delivery. That's the way things work. If someone provides an exceptional level of service, I am going to let other people know about it.

Grizzly,

The simple answer to your question (which has been asked here before,) is "No".

But I don't want to let it go at that.

It seems a bit sad that when anyone complains about bad service, of which there is an abundance, everyone seems eager to jump on the band-wagon, ... but when the much-rarer GOOD service is applauded, as it deserves to be, suspicion is the response.

I assume, because of your interest, that you are someone who might appreciate good service if you can be assured it exists.

If so, and you or any of your friends are within travel-distance,... Try Adam and Josh at Dishman.

It would be nice to think that we TDR members can trust one another's word,... especially if it is a consensus. We can't all be "shills". You will not get dishonest opinion from me. Mistakes, maybe,... but not intentional mis-representation.

You can bet that if I encounter half-donkey treatment anywhere, it will be reported here as loudly and clearly as I have voiced my delight with the service I received at Dishman,... a dealer I had never heard of before joining TDR.

I am a rather intense person (which has its drawbacks,) and it is difficult to get off of my $#!#-list, once on it. I like to think it is fair of me to be equally generous with deserved praise as I am with deserved condemnation.

Since I am the author, I suppose that I am free to include in this post the text of a message I sent to the bosses of these two gentlemen, and to the owner of the dealership. [The subject heading was "Exemplary Employees as Representatives and Assets" -- I have recived appreciative responses from both boss and owner]

You can be assured I don't waste my time writing such things as this without motivation ;) :

"Lady and Gentlemen,

I am a recent purchaser of a new Dodge Ram diesel truck from Dishman Dodge.

I send this note to make you aware of the good reputation being built for your firm, by two of your employees, who have impressed me(and others) quite positively as described in the report I have just posted on the inter-net (link below).

https://www.turbodieselregister.com...6-dealership-purchase-experience-dishman.html

I send you this unsolicited comment, to encourage your full awareness and appreciation of the assets you have in such employees. They are more than a credit to themselves and to your organization, ... they promote sales, by the reputation justly earned by their courtesy and service, that advertising alone would never gain for you, from distant markets that you would not reasonably expect to sell to, ... and draw customers away from your near and highly-price-competitive neighbor in Idaho.

It is very nice to be able to say sincerely that it was "a pleasure" doing business with Dishman, as represented by these gentlemen.

Thank you for your time and attention to this note. (If any helpful use of my comments may be made, consider this sentence permission to do so. )

Best wishes,

Have now answered this several times but no kick back here either. Just great service and a great price. ;) Now if I could just get them to set up a service operation a little closer to home I would be set. :-laf

I did not order & buy my C&C from Dishman Dodge and when I recieved delivery information from Adam that my own dealer was too lazy to look up, Adam did not get dime from me. And he also has not asked me to write this, let alone pay me for it.

I guess he is just a really nice guy in a world of cut throats and it shows due too going beyond what is expected of a sales person. He is a great asset to his employer and also his customers for the awesome performance and going beyond what is expected from a standard employee (Fast talking cut throat sales person who could care less about the individual he is turning a profit from). It also comes from being very informative about the truck your buying from him and even if it means a less profitable option.

Grizzly, if you are in the market for a new truck, I would call Dishman Dodge first and see if your opinion is the same as ours who have done buisness with Dishman. The sales person from Frahm Dodge (Javier Rodriguez) has been my sales person for four trucks I purchased to include the new C&C and was not his fault for not being able to get me the delivery info, but was the fleet manager who kept telling me there is no way of getting info until it was at the final destination (rail yard) when Adam had already givin me a detailed schedule when it would be built and delivered. That example shows what a great team effort can do for a customer at Dishman, and Adam will be the next sales representative, when my company grows and I need another C&C service truck

Steve...

Here you go. Adam is on the left.

Tom..... the shadow covering the "RAM" badge makes it difficult to see..... is it a 2500 or did you opt for the 3500 sans training wheels? (like I did)

Khaki was one of my top three colors... ... . Electric Blue won, however. :-laf

..... and to Wolfy, TKeeler and RVTRKN. The whole thing about Adam may be on the up and up, but it sounds very suspicious. I got a great deal from my dealer in Albuquerque on my 05, in fact they matched Dave Smith's price and I don't believe one can get a better deal than Dave Smith. You know there are many good and even great Dodge Dealers out there, but you never hear all the, "Another great deal from (dealer's name)".

I hope you can respect my opinion because after a while, it does sound very suspicious.

... You know there are many good and even great Dodge Dealers out there, but you never hear all the, "Another great deal from (dealer's name)".

Maybe if everyone gave their good/great dealers the credit they deserve here on TDR, so interested parties could learn where these dealers are,. . then the next happy customer at that dealer could write "Another great deal from... ".

Grizzly, I haven't searched your posts -- did you give such credit to your dealer/salesperson, by name, ... and did you have positive things to mention beyond price?

A "great deal" dollar-wise, is not the only measure of the treatment one has received from a dealer.

Local-area competition has an effect on the cost-deal you can make (Dave Smith is literally right-down-the-highway from Dishman),... and once prices are in the same ball park, the winner, IMO, is the dealer who offers time/effort spent addressing the buyer's questions in a knowledgeable way, with friendly courtesy and patience.

If you feel that you received such from your dealer, then I am sure any TDR members who live near you will want to know about it.

Then you can deal with THEIR (reasonable, in today's world) suspicions. :)

I don't believe that anyone here has not-"respected" your opinion(question), which you have posted several times.

But you have to understand that after repeated answers have been given to you, by people quite possibly as deserving-of-trust as yourself, ... to keep emphasizing that their comments are "suspicious" is the same thing as saying "maybe they are lying".

That gets old after awhile. Let's face it,... the only way you are going to really know is to go through the experience.

Since you have already found a satisfactory dealer, it seems that you will probably not ever "know", so far as Dishman is concerned.

Maybe it's time for a new subject?

How about posting a request to hear from DIS-satisfied Dishman customers?

They should come-a-runnin' if they are out there. :)

If they do, then you will have heard "both sides".

If they don't, ... then maybe there is only one side. ;)

This is Tom's wife again--he's out installing the grill guard and Nerf bars on my truck.

Yes, it's is a 3500 "sans training wheels" (love that).

Eight years ago I had a Saturn station wagon with about 120K miles on it and it was time to get a new vehicle. Tom suggested that I look at the Dakotas, which had just come out in a 4-door version. Then he said that maybe I should get a full-sized pickup. So I was all set to go test-drive a 1500. Then he said that if I were going to get a full-sized pickup, I should get a diesel (do you see where this is going?), and the diesel wasn't available on the 1500. So then I went and test-drove a 2500 short-box, which is what we ended up buying for me. I loved it, and now our daughter gets to drive it. I told her she doesn't know how lucky she is. My parents gave me a '76 Chevy Monza when I started driving. :{

When I decided I wanted a Mega Cab, I looked at the 2500 because that's what I am used to driving. When Tom ordered the truck for me, lo and behold--I somehow ended up with a 3500. Huh. I should have paid more attention to what he was doing. At least I didn't get a dually. I've driven his 3500 dually and I don't enjoy it at all (actually, driving it isn't the issue--parking it is). I like driving this truck a lot. The longer wheel base has taken some getting used to.

The one thing I don't like is the seat: clearly it was designed for a man (duh). It's like sitting in my husband's leather recliner--if my butt is comfortable, my back hurts, and vice-versa. I've got to do some thinking on how to fix it so that. But so far that's the only drawback, and it's fairly minor.

Here are pics of the truck: side view, interior front, and the all-important grill guard (I once ran over a cow with my 2500). In the side view pic you can also see the '97 3500 (the black one) and if you look REALLY closely, my '99 2500 (the red one).

I have mention my dealer a time or two. Melloy Dodge in Albuquerque. The salesman is AJ Ault. He was great from the get go and we have become friends since and I do send a lot of business his way. However on the Adams thing, just the way everyone starts out, "Another great service from Adam... ". It does sounds a little suspicious.
