More on my egts? How to cool them down?

I have an 05 i tow a 52' 5th and its my daily driver. MY EGTS GO OVER 1600 at will in od at will without the trailer. Towing is fine as long as i keep my foot out of it. I just installed the aem water/meth no help?

High EGT's are from too much fuel for the amount of air.

Is the turbo working correctly? Are the injectors good and not leaking?

boost is 42-45 no smoke or very little ?

I would verify the calibration of the pyro/gage, something does not sound right.

I have both my edge and an autometer 1 pre one post have seen 2000? on both?

I have edge s&b intake,banks air scoop,cfm, 5"exhaust,aem water/meth thats it for now mabe a turbo if it will help my egts?

if you have seen 2000 then something has to be wrong with the guages ,,, dont it ???? At 2000 things should be liquid i would think LOL

Something is not right somewhere. I have a lot more fuel going through mine and I have to try hard to see 1400 degrees. If you aren't smoking then it's not an air issue. Hell, I can fog mosquitos for a quarter mile.

42-45 psi w/stock turbo and no programmer? my 06 has about 28 stock and 38 w/smarty jr and similar mods as you (banks ram air intake/cfm+intake/4" exhaust). My egt's never go over 1200 towing heavy/1350 before installing smarty jr. So something doesn't seem right!!!

ya, you got something not right. even with all thouse mods you should never see EGT's that high. what are you reading to messure the boost and EGT? the edge? i have the same and works within specs. you may have a bad unit. if you see EGT's that high your engine should be slag..... and boost that high with out studs is just not right eather especialy with a stock turbo.

Ya thats way to much boost for a stock turbo (could be contributing to the high EGT's)

Try a Smarty, will help bring down the EGT's (by advancing the timing)

My first thought is you are under geared, over loaded, and pushing waaaayyyy too much fuel. Turn the Edge down before you melt the motor.



You really need more turbo to handle the weight and fuel. The stocker may make 45 psi but its out of its map and the hot air it is making is not helping the EGT's.
