Could this problem I am currently experiencing (fuel in oil) have something to do with the injectors?? They are still original with 295,000 km on them. The cost to get them tested is almost as much as buying a set of new injectors.

Almost all the fuel system people I have spoken with say that an internal leak with the VE fuel pump is very rare and my lift pump is almost new. This makes me wonder if the fuel spray is dribbling past the rings and into the oil?? My mileage has been going down hill for the last few months (14-15 mpg).

Comments?

With the throttle shaft leaking and high miles, it wouldn't surprise if the pump shaft seal as well as GL mentioned is the culprit. Where did you get your year old replacement lift pump from? GL outta be able to tell you how to replace that seal yourself. . better than me that is.

Thanks guys. I've come to the same conclusion myself... . there is far too much oil being made for it to be just the injectors. The lift pump was purchased from Cummins.

I'll be ordering a 230hp rebuilt pump from Piers, probably get some bigger injectors while I'm at it (Bosch 190's?). The truck has been a slug for long enough... . time to turn up the fuel!!
