I finally made the 20 mpg group. #ad

Before I slid the plate, I was getting 16-17 mpg, with wimpy power
under 2k rpm #ad
and just enough to hold its own pulling the T. T.
down the highway on a flat road. #ad

With plate forward the trailer squeals to slow down #ad
and
my mpg is up to 20[empty].
Now foot control has all to do with mpg and the life of my
clutch. The clutch will slip if driven HARD and the wheels
WILL spin [on wet road] at 40 mph. #ad


What is your mpg / power enhancement / r. foot reaction? #ad

Empty I'm getting 19 in town and 20-21 on hwy. Pulling 20' HR Aluma-lite @ 70 or 75 (doesn't matter) it gets 14.

Before power enhancement, I was a consistant 19. 5 mpg. Add a camper shell, 250 hp TST plate, Psychotty air syst, and a clean exaust system and I would be lucky to get 19mpg. My right foot has alot to do with the numbers, I am sure. I love the power and sound of the 'improved' cummins, and I intend to use it when ever I can.
Low = 18mpg
High + 19mpg

Stock the best my truck got was 18. 5 MPG and almost every power mod get me alittle better after a couple of weeks playing with the power #ad

I've only had my truck for three weeks now but love the mileage. First tank acheived 24mpg but that was good southern fuel. Since then I have been getting right around 20mpg on a 50/50 blend. It's a heck of a lot better than my gasser that got 12mpg, I have a ton more power now too.

in combined freeway and stop&go I avg about 15. 5-16. 5--- on a long, uninterrupted highway run 21. . would probably be better, but like Sammy Hagar says "I can't drive 55"

96 2500, 5 speed, Fuel preporator, K&N, Dr. performance injectors, Horton, No cat, Holes in muffler, TST #11,AFC spring kit and going broke with the price of fuel.
 
I'm getting around 21 during the summer months. Now? Who knows, besides I fuel up from a 550 tank, so it's all a guestimate.
Most of my driving is commuting to/from work. It's 35 miles and about 6 stop lights. Speed limit is 40-50. Much of it is a two lane w/o a passing zone, thus the good mileage. #ad

These are my "non towing" figures.
Last few summers I went to Ohio with a 24' TT. Set the cruise on 75-80 (rt 80 through PA) and this netted me about 14 MPG. The truck is totally stock, so I left the cruise on the whole way.
As a side note, I usually use a few quarts of oil between oil changes,tooling around town.
Going to Ohio, and showing it no mercy, the oil didnt move at all. #ad

I am pretty much "in line" with what
everyone has already posted.

Right now, I get between 17. 4 and 17. 8
depending on the "right foot" as you say.
Prior to all the pump mods and the 370's
the best I ever got runnning "empty and
with no trailer" was 19.

I gained about 3-4 mpg after installing the Banks Stinger Plus on both my trucks. Running empty I get 22-24 mpg @ 65 mph,have seen as high as 28 mpg. Hard to keep from hotrodding them now,which really takes it's toll in economy. I've found I get better mileage using my foot rather than the cruise control.

I get about 22. 75 in town driving but that is lots of highway but stop and go. On open road empty no tailgate I get 24. 7
I did a trip to Florida (Daytona for Biketoberfest) loaded certified weight 19,870 lbs. I was getting 13. 6 at 65MPH I dropped back to 60 MPH and mileage went up to 14. 8 For total trip I went 2823 miles used 190. 3 gallons. This was with A/C. Once in Daytona we did some driving without trailer so mileage for total trip was 14. 8MPG
I have 191,260 miles and with last fill up I have used 10,338 gallons for average of 18. 5 mpg. Geez that makes me sick to look at those records. Ever sicker is the fuel cost $13,429. 06 Uh well glad I am not in a gasser. Boy to see dollar a gallon diesel again.

Mileage hasn't changed but maybe . 2mpg since getting fuel pump kit and K&N installed but power is much better. Mileage with the trailer went up a little but constant speed is now attainable.

I was getting 20 city and 21 hwy empty. But something happened last time and I got 13 pulling an empty 20" gooseneck stock trailer. I am going to put a new fuel filter on and see if the return line is leaking when it gets warm. #ad

I have a '94 4x4 auto that my son drives that gets 16 around town and 19 to 20 on the highway.
My '96 4x4 5speed just made a trip to Dallas and back with a little test drive delay in Waco. I drove 65 to 68 mph and got 21. 63 mpg for the trip. ( 625 miles and burned 28. 9 gals. ) This truck has the TST 285 plate, light AFC spring, and 4 inch exhaust. I get 18. 5 to 19 around town.

Just got back from a long road trip. Just for grins, on different days I drove at different speeds to see the effect on mpg. Truck is a 4X4 SLT with a high topper (shell). I drove all day (450-500 miles) at 3 differnt speeds.

70 mph yielded 19. 3 mpg
75 mph yielded 18. 7 mpg
80 mph yielded 17. 4 mpg

I'm sure that if I had the patience to drive at 65 mph I'd get over 20 mpg #ad
