I use my standard cab 5 speed 96 Dually to haul my race car trailer while loaded with a slide in camper (about 17K pounds loaded). It has 166K on it, I've replaced the head, clutch (10K RPM clutch) and done the dowel pin fix but I need more power while towing as it bogs way down on hills and has a hard time keeping at high way speeds all while the EGT creeps up. I've been looking at the kits from Banks Engineering as they claim to remedy the power, torque and produce good MPG. Has anyone used them or have other suggestions. I don't want to do major surgery and would like to keep it as simple as possible. I plan to keep the truck another 5 years and 80K miles (or more). Thanks,

The banks "big" kit put on the 1 ton in my sig along with the exhaust break. This kit makes great power and takes the guess work out of everything. while the kit is awsome I believe that it is a little expensive. The same power if not more was made by the 95 in my sig for alot less $ (less the turbo) but more work, all the homework was done for you with the banks kit. egts stay reasonable and mph awsome. I just finished up going threw a diff 1 ton, and just put in a new overflow valve, guages, tst plate (pushed foward) and set the timming to 15-15. 5 deg, and adjusted the accel linkage on the pump. this made a huge diff in the way the truck ran and the amount of power/TQ pulling loads. MPH? dont know yet? hope this helps. poke arround on here and look for some builds that will fit your needs. good luck!

Thanks for the info -- what you mention about them doing all the home work, R+D, etc is what I was interested in. As it is the work horse for my hobbies I need to know the "kit" works.

By the way -- I was reading the Buyers Guide as suggested and from what I can make out my truck (96 12V, 5 speed dually) should be making 25 lbs of boost stock. I bought it at 100K and it has never made more than 18 -- am I reading the guide correctly?

Thanks again,

12v and simple you ask.....

Call TST Products in Indiana as it does not get any easier than them.
They are a 12v owners best friend and with the money you save from not making Bank's any richer, treat a friend to a TDR subscription.

Back when I first bought my 12v in early 99 I had a older gentleman tell me about both places and his thoughts about the lavish amount of money he wasted on Bank's parts that did not work. He told me back then about TST and the TDR and made me promise to enlist the next owner who I helped which I have done for years. Call Mark at TST and if you find their help what you want, pass a subscription to the next person you help out from your savings so they can enjoy the friendship we all have here... ... ... . Andy
