cheese'n'rice... Ford own Cummins again...sorta long

Anyone ever seen one of these in the flesh?

I was surfing around on a Ford site and some guy there, found a link, that was interesting. If you click the link and read the brochure it says on page 3 that for 2007 the ISB will have in increase in displacement form 5. 9 to 6. 7. This is the best proof I have seen of the rumored 6. 7 Cummins. Anyone else seen this article?

There was a thread w/that same link a few months ago. Pretty interesting stuff if you ask me, I suppose only time will tell if the 5. 9 will finally be replaced.

I can't pull that link up for some reason. What HP and torque are we talking about?

I usually don't start believing rumors until they reach "critical mass" (except for the Ford owns Cummins one). I think this rumor may be to that stage now. At least it's still a 6 banger.

Well it looks like if you want to see the new 4500/5500 with the ISB 6. 7L, then hop on down to Atlanta to the Fleet Show on March 1, 2006. The Allpar site has the story.

After reading Steve St. Laurent's story on the start up page about the Chicago Auto Show, I don't know what to think. I'll believe it when I see it.

Diesel Progress had a nice article about the two "B" engines. I can't locate the magazine now... ... ... I think one was a 6. 7L ISB

I have a Factory Service manual that is for ISB/QSB. I have no idea what a Q engine is... ... ... ... The manual don't say.

I was looking at the International website and was wondering why Ferd does not use the inline 6 from International instead of the faulty V-8. There are two different types that would be a good choice for the Ferds.

because the inline international engine is very heavy. too heavy for pickup use, without modding the frontend. its also a tad on the long/tall side+its more expensive. would be sweet though! the inline internationals are legendary for reliability and long life. .

Ford certainly wouldn't want that. How would they ever sell new trucks if the old ones never came back for service?

2007 Cummins ISB

Look at today's press releases (2/13). There is a press release for the new ISB, increase to 6. 7 liters displacement and a new particualte trap for emissions. No idea if they will continue to make the "old" ISB for Dodges in 2007. If they are going to this new engine, I am buying the last of the old ones.

I hope they don't do like GM and use the same engine for light and medium duty trucks. They should either keep the 5. 9 in pickups and 6. 7 in 45-5500s or put the 6. 7 in light duty and possibly the 8. 3 in medium duty.

I thought the new 6. 7 Cummins engine was nothing more than a stroked 5. 9. Anyone know if that's right?
Basically, that's right. Cummins can take the internal design work done on the structural-block 6. 7L used in agricultural service and translate it into a non-structural-block engine for truck service - like they did with the original 5. 9L tractor engine.

Yep i was on a website last nite, It was www.everytime.cummins.com and it said that the 6. 7 was a 325hp/770lbft of torque new motor for the dodges in 07. Pretty interesting i think.
