Okay guys, I must be missing something I found my fuel leak. It is located where the braided fuel line meets the metal fuel line just before the frame on the driverside. I'm really confussed about why everyone is saying its such a pain to replace, it looks wide open to me all the way up to the back of the engine. Am I looking at a fuel line different than the supply and return????? It looks to me like I could change out the braided hose for the marine rubber hose in about 10 minutes. Help Please?????

You can, but there are also lines hidden behind the filter canister, that go to the overflow valve, and the lines to the tank are behind the tank. if you have one leak, chances are good another is not far behind, and it's best to do them all at once.

I'm also confused. I found and replaced 2 hoses; one from the tank which is a 3/8" line and one to the tank which is 5/16". They are side by side on the drivers side and connect to both braided fuel lines. I have replaced two existing fuel lines with two diesel fuel compatible rubber hoses from West Marine. Are there others that can not be seen easily in the fuel system?

You must be talking about the ones between the metal lines and engine. The difficult ones are the plastic-like hoses between the metal lines and the fuel tank, which are behind the frame and pretty much require dropping the tank to reach. One of those on my truck was flattening down so I bought all new fuel line -8AN and ran it all the way from the tank to the prefilter.

The larger line is the supply, smaller line is the return. I kept the stock return line and capped off the supply line. While I was at it I Bombed the fuel pickup assy.

To make it easy, remove the head and you can see what line everyone is talking about. That's the easiest way I've seen to get to um.

Confussed!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay some of you guys could really confuse people. My question is, can I replace the braided part of the fuel line that looks like it goes to the rear of the fuel filter with the marine grade 5/16 hose????? My second question is, will it hurt anything to get rid of all the metal and braided lines and replace them with the marine grade rubber hose???????

Thanks in advance and sorry for being so confussed on the 15 different lines everyone is talking about.

No, it won't hurt. I replaced all of my line from the engine to the tank with the same hose you are talking about.

I have also replaced all my hose with marine grade rubber. To help protect the rubber from the elements I got some electrical sheeth and slid the hose through it before installation.

The answer is, YES. You can replace any line at any time you please. The truck is man made and you may see a better way of doing something. It won't be wrong, but it won't be the way Dodge did it. We already know there are some things Dodge did we don't like, now. Change what you want on enjoy the truck and all your work.

Ok, I have the same problem with my '96 12valve dodge. I am seeing that fuel leak from the braided hose. Now is it from thehose or this infamous location that no one can get to.
