Ok, had my transmission gone through by Fred at Desert Diesel 2 years ago now, and I ran into some money at the end of this summer that is burning a hole in my pocket. Messed up the first time around and didn't go billet, and this time I plan on fixing that. Have 101,600 miles on my pickup now with initial DTT install done at 67k (and not a single hickup since I might add). Soooooo, this time around that ain't gonna happen.
I have the initial "update kit" that I believe gave me an extra clutch-pack, billet piston (or maybe servo?), 2nd gear band I believe, seals, etc. 89% t/c, valve body was cranked to start, etc. Very good setup for daily driver, but this thing is going to be on the track this year, and needs it all. here's what I'm thinking:
billet input/hub
billet output
billet accumulator/piston (that right?)
new clutch-packs where needed
not going to go for the intermediate as of now... from what Stefan says, I don't need it (yet), and they don't fail that often. After this is done I will be doing 20+ psi launches in 4x4 with a lockup switch being thrown upon the shift into 2nd gear. The plan is high 12's with my current fueling, and mid to low 12's come some bigger nozzles and maybe an extra turbo.
Anything I'm missing? Oh, fuel delivery is being upgraded too... not sure w/ what just yet, but either RASP or FASS (i like mechanical better though).
