Ok, so I just put in new ball joints, u-joints, and wheel hubs on my 2000 2500. I went to the dealer today for an alignment and 2 hours later came out with nothing done and an estimate for $3000 in work and have a few ?? for everbody on here. I slightly bent the lower control arm bracket when I had to press out the old wheel hubs, I had mentioned this to them in the beginning and they were going to just weld it but found out it's too bent and has to be replaced. the only way to get a new one is to plasma cut one off a junk axle. then there is a transfer case seal leak, vacuum seal leak, and rear differential pinnion bearing bad. They mentioned replacing all the seals and bearings in the rear differential as long as they were in there at a cost of $900. my ? is aren't those rear wheel bearings adjustable and oil bathed?? it seemes to me there is no reason to replace them. they wanted $400 for the vacuum seal, witch seems high to me. My thought on the control arm is to heat it and tweek it back as much as possible and weld it and forget about it. is this going to throw the caster off?
