I got a friend that has a 2000 Ram with the 5. 9 eng. He has done some mod's to it and is wanting to get an "AFTERMARKET AIR SET UP"He does not have a lot of $$

but want's to find a good used set up or see what a good new set up would run? One that does not make too much sound but does what it is ment to and gives some more whine. Now he has the stock size type but a KN filter. Any help I will pass it on to him . Thank's SAM / SAMSRAM :-{}

Tell him to get a BHAF. You can't beat it for the money. I'm sure someone will chime in with a part number.

It will get more air in, make the turbo spool a little faster and make a little bit more noise.

Has your friend removed the silencer ring from his turbo, that'll make some noise too.

Tell him to take that K&N off ASAP unless its a green one. Oiled filters are not good for these engines.

Hope this helps,

-R. J.

You shouldn't have to order one. Any NAPA will usually have one in stock, or can order one next day for no additional cost. They're usually $35-$45. If I'm not mistaken Geno's sells them too for less than NAPA. That's the magazine you get with your TDR quarterly magazine.

All you need after that is about a 1. 5" piece of 4" exhaust pipe to stick in the end of the filter as a stiffner.
