I guess I get to be the high milage champ for now :) My '03 dually has 86k miles on it. The truck works for a living being hooked to an 8000lb (empty) gooseneck 99% of the time. Daily loads get up to 15k pretty easily. The truck and trans are totally stock and no problems so far. My '03 QC is on a similar trailer 90% of the time and has just over 70k miles on it now. Totally stock and no problems with that one either.

I've been pleased enough with them to get one for myself. The '05 replaced an '03 Chev Duramax Allison truck that turned its transmission fluid black three times in 5k miles (between 25k and 30k) with very little light towing. GM said it was normal, I don't think so, down the road it went.

Ez $$?

I'm interested. How much? Thanks, Doc

34k on mine and my torque converter is slipping. List of mods are down in my sig. Going to upgrade the whole transmission so it's bullet proof. I CAN'T WAIT Oo.

I put my transmission under a little bit of strain ;)

39,000 on mine, with about 22,000 of that on the purple-flavored unit :) No problems doing four-wheel burnouts with it... or six-wheel burnouts if I engage the T-case :-laf

Major overhaul at 22k, infrequent light towing only. I think I cooked it getting stuck in the woods last winter. All covered under warrantee, but was 2 weeks waiting on a $5 seal of some sort. I wonder how the t case will fair.

I've only got 1,300 trouble free miles, so I really don't count yet, but my dad's '03 with 6k miles, tows 9,000 lb 5th wheel 15% of the time and NO problems and my uncle's '03 with 60k miles and tows 10,500 lb 5th wheel about 70% of the time with NO problems.

Nearly 99,000 on mine. No problems with transmission, or any other part of the truck for that matter. Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Jeff

Not my truck, but a friend that works where I do has over 120,000 miles on his 04 in a little over a yr. (bought early Dec. , 03) He hasn't had any trouble with the transmission, but has had to change the drive shaft universals several times. Other than normal maintance, that is all he has done to the truck. He doesn't pull a trailer at all, just runs hotshot. It is an 04 3500 dually, with a flatbed on it, he does carry a lot of weight at times, up to 6000 lbs.

Just under 27K on mine. 24K with EZ on level 4 and towing a 7k Lb. about ten percent of the time.

I have had zero problems with the 48 but I swear I will never have another auto CTD again! These trucks have great low rpm torque and the auto with a loose tc just does not make sense!

So here I am wishing I had a six speed with an E-Brake. :mad:

My 99 had an E-Brake and I still miss her. :{

Don't get me wrong it is a great truck, but if I had it to do over again it would have sixer in it.

On my '01 ( I know it has a 47re) I had 433,000 with just replacing the TC twice and (1) 2nd gear band. All other componants were factory. It still shifted and pulled fine when I traded it in.

57,000 on mine. Typical gross is 29,000. Just had a new driveshaft installed today but no transmission problems. I'm running the mag double deep pan which helps keep the transmission temp down. I think the highest I've ever seen is 170.
