just wondering who has the most trouble free miles on a stock auto? Of course following good routine maint. Stock motor/ transmission, good driving habits, etc? Thanks-
I have 50K on mine, but have had an EZ on for the last 10K
No problems yet... . but saving for future DTT work...
(Anyone around Commerce GA that has experience putting the DTT stuff in? I'd like to attempt this on my own, but would like someone to turn to when things go wrong... )
A relative of mine has around 120K on a stock 94 2500 2WD and has pulled a good sized 5er all over the States and Alaska. Just good maintanence, a trans temp gauge and an added cooling fan for the stock trans cooler.
I have a '95 stock with 151K miles and no problems so far. The previos owner changed fluid and adjusted the band every year. He also did some 5th wheel towing. I bought it with 123K miles.
I have the transmission serviced every year. I know it may not be too long before I will have problems.
We have a customer with a 95 2500 4x4, and lets say he uses, or abuses his truck on a daily basis. He continuously tows a 9000lb utility trailer and always has at least 1500lbs in his bed.
So far his stock automatic is working great. Oh yeah, I almost forgot... He has been running a TST 230/605 plate and 14cm housing since about 15,000 miles. And yes he has a "Mystery" Lock-Up switch that is almost worn out from too much use. :--)
100k on mine. I pull a 3000 lb trailer through mountains and around town. I had trouble around 70k ... combination problem of band adjustment, gov pressure sensor and cheap fluid. I use Mopar now and no more burnt fluid. I did 3 trans services about 7000 miles apart and now all seems well.
