Maybe one of you Seattle guys can help me?

Need Help with computer

That's past my bed time too, chuck3. I wasn't part of that number, which really amazes me :) Anyway, I've been known to come here in the middle of the night, when the sheep have gone to bed and left me to fend for myself.

Not surprised....

Not one "Server Busy" message since the hardware upgrade this past weekend and the traffic is way up as a result.

Also, not one "Thank You" post for the upgrade either... . especially since it went so smoothly. Just complaints from people hit by the burned Internet lines in the tunnel Monday... . :(

Sigh... ..... Anyone ever see the Microsoft ad about the old man emailing the weatherman and complaining about the weather report? Sometimes I feel like that weatherman.

Thank You to those who took the time to email TDR words of thanks and encouragement during this latest upgrade.

Ken, I think I speak for a few Guys when I say I might not have understood completley what the upgrade was specifically, and what it took to make it happen. I know what It's like to go unnoticed when you extend yourself, especially if it goes smoothly. If this is the case, you Guys did a real top quality job in that Guys like me didn't even notice any interuption or change. I never really had a problem on this site before the upgrade. I guess I don't get on during real peak times.

Thanks for reminding us of just how self centered we can be. Thanks for all your hard work and effort. Yor right, i have yet to see a "Server busy" message since the change, nice job. I am sorry one of our trains caused so many problems that you got blamed for.

Ken, I learned long ago that positions like yours, being a sound man, or anything that involves "running" things rarely gets you appreciated, only complained to when it doesn't work.

You know your doing your job right, when nobody notices you. It's that when you do your job best, you become invisible. Just the nature of the beast, I'm afraid. Take the resounding silence to mean it was good enough :)

FWIW, You've done as well or better than most administrators / webmasters, especially one working at it only part time (I know you do other sites and things as well). Take heart, you know what you've done, be proud of it.

Ken,

I did appreciate the email notifying me of the server upgrade and timeout and I almost emailed a thankyou, but I figured that you'd be so busy 'takin care of business' that you wouldn't have time for my menial 'thanks a lot'. Nonetheless, Thanks a lot!!!

TDR Admin,

Thanks to all for another job well done:;):

It was such a seamless transition, maybe nobody even noticed

I know I didn't.

Of course if it's screwed up... ... ... ... ... . everybody notices

It's not my job to run the train,

The whistle I can't blow

It's not my job to say how fast

the train's allowed to go

It's not my job to pull the brake,

or even ring the bell

But let the dang thing jump the track,

and see who catches hell

Sound familiar?
