We have been swarmed by a hatch of small golden brown moths recently. They are about 1/2" long. They show up mostly in the kitchen but I think that is because the light is on in there from getting up in the morning to going to bed at night. I don't think they are after my clothes since I only have two pair of pants and I have one of them on all the time. I did find some larvae or whatever they are before they begin to fly in an old work shirt in the garage (40% cotton, 60% poleyster. ) Anyone have a good solution to this problem? My wife decided yesterday to try spraying them with hair spray, I haven't found any dead ones but some of the flying ones sure have nice looking hair. bg

We get the Miller's here every summer. The best way to kill'em I've found is to put a lamp over a pan of soapy water. Not sudsy, just put the liquid dish soap in after the water and stir it up a little. They fly in towards the light and land in the water. The soap coats their wings and they can't fly. It doesn't make them go away, but it does kill off a bunch.

BG Check those cabinets for old cerial boxes , oats , wheat , and or rice , crackers and whatnot. Basicly any DRY foods. I forget the name but they are the liken to Mili worms that have reached maturity ?? Anyhow I had a unit here and called in the experts and sure enough after a full on cleaning out of the cabinets by the resident all had dissapeared.
