mothball smell

I bought a nice 1975 chevy caprice classic convertible. The previous owner kept it in mint condition but it has a very strong smell of mothballs. I have looked everywhere for them and cannot find any. What is the best way to get rid of the mothball smell. Every time I drive it I come inside and my wife complains I smell of mothballs!

How'd you get his little legs apart far enough to smell em?



Leave the car open until the moths balls evaporate. If you keep it closed up it will take a long long time.

You didn't expect a serious reply from Doc did ya?

We had the same trouble at te house. The main thing is to try and find any mothballs that might still be in the car. Then you just have to let it air out. It will go away.
