Motor Mounts

Has anyone changed there's yet? I am having a strange vibration in my go-pedal when passing over 2000rpm in mid-to-heavy throttle and I'm running out of ideas.



Someone suggested to me that maybe my motor mounts are shot. I do know that my engine twists a lot when I rev it in neutral.



If anyone has changed there motor mounts, how many miles did you have on them? At 213k would it be unusual for my motor mounts to be bad?



Also, are they a PITA to change?



Mine look kinda squishes and tore up... you just replace the rubber, right?

Nope



The rubber is bonded to 2 steel plates , which in turn have a stud sticking out from ether side. Support motor, unbolt, remove, install new, bolt down loosely, do same to other side, once new ones are in place, set motor down make sure it is level and tighten nuts on the studs.

Hey Paychk, CB doesn't need a manual hes got the TDR. If it was me I would be lookin at ujoints and slipjoinnts if its a 4x4; and ujoints or a steady bearing if its two wheel drive maybe even wheels, tire balance, or bent axles. jm2cw Bill

How to support motor? Floor jack under what? Need to unbolt transmission mount bolts? ? Bill <-- has 93 fsm trade for 60 psi isspro boost guage CB...

Floor jack under motor w/ 2 X 6 between jack pad & oil pan.



No need to unbolt transmission.

CB- Have you gotten your timing checked? Injectors? I'd be more inclined to think fuel system, if the problem is load related. Even at your low mileage, the injectors can be uneven, with it getting magnified under hard load. Valve adjustment? Check that as well.



Have a beer- or spike your Coke with a hard beverage- call your little lady to come console you. (since you're at home, the sorority thing may not go over so well )

Actually, I have some... uh... goodies comming that will fix the injector problem...



Valve adjustment? I'm embarassed to say that I don't know how. I will hopefully have a FSM comming soon.



Alcohol? Doctor says it's a no go because of the meds.
