motor oil prices

What the heck happened to prices of motor oil? A quart of simple 10W-30 a coulda sworn was like $2. 50 a couple months ago, now is avg about $4. 50 at my local Advance Auto! Even el cheapo is $3. 49. I didn't even look at Delo, don't wanna know... .



Anyone got any clues on what the deal is? I know crude oil is up, but that can't be blamed for friggin doubling the price of motor oil.



I expect the oil change places will soon go from $24. 99 to $35-40 for a basic car oil change.



Another rip-off to add to the never-ending list.

Along with the price of the blend stocks used to make the goo, theres the cost of fuel to get it to the shelves. Diesel fuel etc!!!.

My son bought a 6 one gal case of Rotella 15w40 at Sam's club today for $65. Not too bad.

My local NAPA has Valvoline 15-40 Premium Blue on sale for 9. 99 a gallon. Has been on sale for a few months. I think today is the last day.
