I am looking for information on what to do with the wiring harness on the 97 12v now that it is installed on the 1st gen. Am I better off to modify the 2nd gen to fit the 1st gen body, or am I better to modify the 1st gen harness to fit the 97 motor?

Also, what gets done with the grid heater relays? Can the 93's be used with the 2nd gen grid heaters or do I need to get the 2nd gen specific ones?

Help!

Thanks!

Robert

the grid heater should work the same ie a 93 grid in a 98 twelve valve is fine etc. . the other stuff is trivial ise the connector type for a temp sensor etc. . the mechanical engines have little in the way of wiring etc besides temp sensors. . not much to wire. .

I would use the sensors and sending units specific for the truck the engine is going into. Beyond possibly splicing a couple wires, I dont see a whole lot of issues.

The one mod you will have to do is the shutoff solenoid . If you need help I can check with my friend to see how he did his. Shadrach

After some research, it looks like I will be able to work without the shutoff solenoid (manual cable instead), so I should be good!

Thanks guys!!
