Zoning law question

My point being

It's the parents responsibility to instruct:

these kids on 100+ hp bikes with shorts, t-shirts, sneakers, and no experience.

It has everything to do with politics.

My daddy is Dead. The state is not my daddy, they have no business telling me to wear a helmet, seatbelt, how to raise my kids, etc. , etc. , etc.

Socialism is when you make laws for my betterment irrespective of my wishes in the matter. If you don't want to pay my hospital bills then DON'T. It's your conscience and your money. Do as you please.

I happen to agree with wearing helmets. I don't agree with the Govt. telling me I must or suffer financial and other penalties.

Liberty is about making your own decisions, being responsible for your own actions.

Your Turn,

Jay

Just my few thoughts,,,,,,,,

I've been riding scooters for the past 24 years, different sizes, on & off road, mostly street, mostly Harleys. I've had my share of spills. The last spill was on a full dresser at about 35 to 40 mph. I broke my jaw in 3 places along with a few other injuries, non serious. I was wearing a half helmet that showed no signs of a hard impact afterwards. I found it funny when the doctor told me, "Well, you were probably lucky you only had a half helmet,,,,,,,,,,,,a full face type would have probably broke your neck instead of your jaw" When I rode to the 90th anniversary for Harley in 93, I pulled my lid first chance I got and didn't put it back on till I had to. This should be my choice! How many lives would be saved if every motor vehicle operator wore a helmet, how many lives would be saved if every hunter had to buy and wear full body armor and bright orange Kevlar SWAT helmets, How many people would be saved every year, if you couldn't take a bath or shower until you put on protective head gear?? How about if the goverment told you This will be the law? Do you think folks would be happy?

This kind of a list could go on forever,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  :p :p

My bottom line is : When your time is up,,,,,Your time is up,,,,,It doesn't really matter how you live,,,,,,,,When the MAN upstairs says, "IT'S TIME TO GO",,,,,,,,Your time is up! This is just my way of thinking.

Just my $. 02 worth---why do you suppose the 10 safest states are "helmet optional" and the 7 most dangerous states are "helmet required" states??? (This in fatalities/100,000 miles ridden). 78% of motorcycle fatalities involve riders with less than 1 year of experience---most are under 28 years old---could it be that "Mr. testerone comes to visit those who feel invincible, especially when forced to wear a helmet? I've been riding for 41 years---I've done motocross (before it was a "sport), desert "trials", "drag racing", and a fare share of "cafe"racing--(before it became real compitition---used to be TT, as in tavern-to tavern racing). I wouldn't then nor now consider doing any of them "lid free". I've also ridden at least 800,000 miles over the years on the road, and many of them helmet free---it's great when the weather is good---better hearing---better vision(no periferal loss)---AND no false sense of security(and invincibility)!!

I've been to 150+ MPH on a motorcycle(wouldn't even consider it without a helmet!!)! TO THOSE who buy into the "PUBLIC BURDON" theory the ins. company's and DEMOCRATS constantly throw at us, consider this----It's MUCH cheaper to bury a dead biker than to CARE for a paraplegic former biker for the next 20+ years!!!!

I'm done now and ready to be flamed(I can take it)---whose next on the soap box???
