a buddy has a motorhome with a 250hp p pumped cummins in it and wants to increase the milage from it. it is stock except for a few clicks on the star wheel and moved the torque plate a little forward. milage went from 6-8 to 10 on average, but he is about to retire and would like to pick up a few mpg's.

i suggested a better muffler to replace the giant one that looks like a keg. he was asking about a performance intake elbow from a dodge application, will they fit or is there a better option. also im sure a 3 piece exh manifold would not hurt.

I know of several members in my RV club that have installed the Banks Powerpack. I am not aware of anything for the 12V though. We cut my FIL's muffler out and just replaced with a straight pipe and it helped the turbo spool faster... . as evidenced by the boost gauge. The single, biggest improvement with a pusher MH you can do to keep good power is to clean the IC and radiator yearly... . Yes,I said Yearly. Because of the crankcase ventilation, combined with the natural draft of a pusher, the IC gets clogged. If clogged bad enough, the Cummins will defuel on the 24V model, and leave you with no power. Not sure if the mechanical 12V will do this, but it will suffer from low power and resulting fuel economy penalty.

I use an industrial grade HVAC coil cleaner..... diluted properly of course, and spray directly on the IC and radiator. Use more cleaner than water pressure and let sit, then rinse with large volumes of water..... not low volume water, high pressure. In other words,do not use a pressure washer!!!

If this has not been done as recently as a couple of yrs,I bet it is need of service.
