NO I haven't recieved any E-mail but the one from Kurt.

Just in case I screwed up my E-Mail Addy when I registered it's -- email address removed --

I'll give you a PM and call you after lunch today, Sunday, to see if I can catch you. I can use all the help I can get in the knowledge department. I can build Hot Rod Cars no prob, but this is a new challenge. Driven Diesels Trucks all my like just never thought about what it takes to build one.

Thanks, Talk to you later today.

Thanks Mark, SAE #3,... Got it.

NO, No I meant, will get it.

I have a Allison Mt 653 spotted for $850. 00 outright, which seems to be a good deal.

I found a guy in WI that has a dozen or so 4BTs and may have some 6BTs I'll get you the info in the a. m. He has a ton of 19. 5" wheelas that should fit 1T trucks too.

Later,

Mark

Thanks Mark, I'm open to any leads.

Just out of curiosity. What is the weight of the 4BT? I know a guy in Atlanta who is putting one in a Jeep. I gave him a link here, in case he wanted to read up on what others have done. I'm thinking about another project I've been dreaming about for some time.

Rated Power 105 @ 2500RPM

Rated Torque 267 @ 1700RPM

Dry Weight 705 Pounds

There is also an aftercooled version shown:

Rated Power 120 @ 2500RPM

Rated Torque 302 @ 1700RPM

Dry Weight 725 Pounds

Cummins lists these engines as "Light Commercial Delivery Service--4x2 trucks, 8500-16000 lbs. GVW"

Should be a good choice in a vehicle that could handle the weight of most any gas burning v-8 engine.

Hopes this info helps!

I talked to Joe at Neosho this morning and he can get me a 90 model 5. 9 l Cummins Engine and an Allison AT 545 from a school bus. A complete package. Only problem is it's a "90".

I asked him how hard would it be to find a Bosch P 7100 pump to put on that motor. He wasn't sure!:(

Dang, I wish I knew more about these engines.

This Ramping up ain't what it's cracked up to be. I'm too impatient. If my Manuals were here I'd be up all night reading them. The wife hates it when I get manuals on stuff. They are like Novels to me. Can't put them down until I've got them memorized.

try here!

Have you tried www.enterpriseengine.com??

Columbus Ohio.

They specialize in 5. 9 rebuilds and HEAVY MODS, among other things.

Ask for Doug.

They also have good sources for Brownie boxs, and Allisons.

And, if you need the old girl resprung, there is an excellent spring shop down the street from them. I drive 4 hours to get work done down there.

You can get 300 out of the old engines, but it takes some pricey injectors and a turbo change, and some pump work.

My Dad has a 87 Ford Cabriolet w/sleeper/ dually trailer toter, that was converted from Ford 460 to a 1992 5. 9, Allison, and a Brownie. 180 hp stock runs good, but is sleepy. It weighs 9000 empty.

But you have the gears to off set that.

They started with Allison only w/ 3:73 gears. Then added the Brownie with 4:10s.

I think 300hp would be much better!!!

Done, He has two spoken for, but these guys haven't come across with any money. YET! He doesn't have anything else ready right now. But, I may have him build me one if I don't come across one somewhere else before Friday.
