Anyone familiar with camping on the McCloud river near Mt Shasta?

Specifically the Fowlers, Cattle Camp and Algoma camp grounds?

Curious to know which of those offer better river sites for 32' 5th wheel and how far they are from the Mt Shasta Ski Park?

I'm sorry I can't answer that for you Matt, but my family is planning a trip up there later this year so this will be good information. Our 5th wheel is right around the same length.

It appears from the forest service info that Cattle Camp is better than the others for 32' and I did find out its 16 miles to the ski park.

No reservations and sometimes it fills on fridays but not always so I guess try and get there as early as possible.

Matt, don't know anything about Algoma. Fowlers has smaller, tighter sites. Cattle Camp has been recently improved with good sites for longer rigs. Both campgrounds have central water but no improvements to the sites. You'll have to dump elsewhere, typically Dance County in McCloud. Fowler is right on the River. Cattle Camp requires a short drive to the River. We prefer Cattle Camp due to size of sites and space between sites.
