What have you learned.

ouch!!!!

klenger,

Ouch!!!!! How fast were you going? I have crashed several times over the handlebars and only received 'strawberries'.

klenger, wow, that looks bad... glad you are OK!

I guess I can join your ranks though, as I just broke one of my ribs while riding my mountain bike. Now I'm out of the saddle for about 6-8 weeks. I did ride on the road yesterday and that went pretty good, so I'll have to stick to pavement for a while.

I was crossing a wash (creek or a river in the desert that is always dry). Started pretty slow and was on the brakes till I was 1/2 way down. Then I coasted the rest of the way, gaining speed as I went down to gain momentem to go up the other side. Hit sand at the bottom, and the rest is in the pics. Mostly, I'm just a klutz and not very skilled at single track. I stick to the roads now. Pretty much back to 98% now.

I'm still riding the beast. Usually I get up at 0-dark:30 and ride about 10 miles before work. Between that and Weight Watchers, I have managed to shed precisely 42. 0 pounds between February and August 26th :D So I'm about 1/2 way to where I need to end up.

Took awhile, but my tail end is getting used to the seat on the bike. Still can't imagine who or why that torture device was designed the way it is... Oh well. Fun fun fun Oo. Oo. Oo.
