Mounting aftermarket tweeters in the dash

Who is mounting aftermarket tweeters in the dash? My brother wants to do this in his 04, any help would be great.

I put a set in the dash when I got my 03 cuz I missed the sound (from the dash area) of the infinity I had in my 02 1500 (same body).

I used base blockers on them and powered them with the HU, I upgraded the door speakers and powered them with an added amp under the drivers seat.



Many don't like the 6 speaker Infinity system but I do.

I think it has more to do with listening levels. At low to med sound levels it sounds fine to me but if you really like to crank it loud then that is where the infinity wont shine at all.

I also mounted a set in my dash. I am not as happy with them as I hoped as few HUs can properly control six speakers, so you have to splice into a pair it does control. Agree an amp is needed to adequately control all six speakers and take full advantage of the 6x9s in the door. I will be adding the amp when I get back home late this summer.

I installed a set of 3. 5" Rockford Fosgates and they made a huge difference. Very easy install too.

you do not have to put them the dash you can put them in the pillar pods they will sound real good if not better than the dash just my 2cnts

03+ trucks don't have space in the pillar pods for tweeters.
