kerosene: Where do I find it in the Twin Cities area?

MNTDR Need your pictures!

I'll be moving to the Twin Cities area around the middle of January, and I was wondering what shops are good for service and parts, especially high performance parts and service, in the northern portion of Minneapolis or the northern suburbs? Thanks in advance.

Check out MAS Racing products on University Ave. if you're looking for general high performance car/truck stuff. I deal with Kevin Olson but he's only there pt now.

Diesel stuff talk to SpicyJam on here. Spicy does build twins set-ups. General service..... I work at an automotive shop just on the North West end of the cities (Ramsey).

Welcome, and if you have any questions, feel free to shoot us a PM!

Josh

Thanks for the responses. It looks as though the MNTDR bunch is a pretty active group. I would definitely like to participate as much as my schedule will allow when I get over there.

Are there any specifically light diesel shops in the Twin Cities area that people know about?

Not really anything that is specifically Light diesel.

It depends on what your looking for. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions. Being in the industry if I don't know I can find out.

LOL yes Jason there are. Once the new year is over I'm going to try and set up an afternoon/evening at one of the local Pro Cart tracks. Then after that the annual Buffalo Wild Wings gathering. By then we should be rolling into spring, This year I'd like to set up a wrench day a couple weekends before the trip to IRP, that way we can all coordinate when and where we are leaving from.

Sweet. I hope I can get vacation, clutch, fass, ez installed by then :)

DieselRam, what are you looking to have done? The comments above do reflect the area around here. There are a couple of places besides mine that can help you out. One being Power House Diesel in Roseville, Brian is pretty good to work with, but if you want any internal work done cams, fire rings, trannys built, twin turbo set ups, injectors... etc, give Josh or me a shout. I don't believe Power House is doing that, unless it is a bolt on kit from ATS or another source. Thanks Josh for the shout, and hey have you ever seen me squeeze my fat as$ into a cart? Well you probably won't either... . lol. Besides I have gotten kicked off the track before, and get this, not for crashing or even being slow, but because I carry to much speed thru a corner and they told me I could seriously hurt someone. So I was black flagged and money refunded... ... ... ..... but I will be there see if I get black flagged again... ..... lol. Later Jim.

Probably the next thing for me would be internal work (fire rings, porting, cam, etc. ) in preparation for some twins and bigger sticks. I have a turbo on the way, but I should have that put in before I leave. Other than that, I was just looking for a good place for general maintenance. Being that I'm renting I unfortunately don't have the space or the tools (or the space to store the tools) to be able to do a lot of the simple stuff myself. I've had bad experiences with Dodge dealers, and I'm not real comfortable leaving my truck at a place that doesn't do diesels regularly. I will certainly let one of you guys know if I need any major help other than the basic stuff. Thanks much!

Oh, and is there a email list or something like that for MNTDR. If there is, I would like to join.

Well Spicy there does Fire Ringing, and Twins. If your looking for just general maintenance, I work at a shop that does everything..... but I would be the one doing the work on your truck.

What can I do... Well..... I'll just say I know my way around them very well. I'm ASE certified, and also been Mercedes-Benz Certified. (99-05)

The MNTDR mailing list, Send me your E-mail address and I'll forward it to John E. He's not on the TDR any longer, but is happy to be our secretary.

The best I can give about Tim is... ... he burned a few bridges, and has found other venues.

If your looking for Diesel performance in talk to Spicy on here. There are a couple of Diesel Performance shops around. I think Spicy does the most invasive work out of all.

Josh

Tim is a topic that is best not discussed around these parts. For various reasons.

Spicy is probably your best bet. I'd probably be your second (Jim and I aren't much different in pricing or services). Josh is a distant third. He likes to beat upon himself mightily about the head and shoulders with spare parts from his truck. :p

Aron's got that right!

If you need a headgasket done... . let me know... .

Sorry I didnt' mention your services earlier... . he was asking around the cities... and I didn't make the mental link... .

I won't hold it against you. You can't help that you suffer from driveshaft-induced brain damage. :D

LOL, now thats funny... ... ... ... J/P trying to make out with his hanger bearing... ... . slapped him right up-side his mellon for trying to get fresh.

One other thing we need to talk about modifying a register plate. Next time I see I will show you what I would like to do to it with a mill... ... ... ... :--) . Talk to ya later... ... ... still laughing thinking about him lying on the knocked out... ... kids... ... ... ... lol. I know Josh no sympathy... ... ..... later.

The worst part is..... I'm sitting here laughing myself.

Thanx guys I needed that.

Rough day at work, and now I'm getting ready to go to a Wake for a friend. Funeral tomorrow.
