Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) moving torque plate

Well I finally took my afc off today to see just what plate was in there. Previous owner said it was a 10, well close an 11. I looked to see how the (throttle lever) hit the plate. It hits just above the bottom, but as the throttle is opened up it comes away from the plate. . I think I have read that this isn't right. If it is not what do I need to do to correct it. . I plan on changine to a 10 or 0 and put in 370's since he said they are there and they certainly aren't 370'3 more like 330's. . any help will greatly appreciated. Thanks, Marc
