Now that I have the truck I have been looking for I am just curious as to what kind of mileage a person can expect with the gears I have and the miles per tank. Also would like to know if turbo, transmission, and boost are avail to set up in the dash. I do not see them. Just the basic gauges you would see on a gas rig. Has anyone done DPF deletes if they are avail for better mileage? thanks.

I'm running the 3.42 gears on a 2500 and my daily drive averages 18.5 mpg. I just returned from a 1200 mile round trip to NC and averaged 22 mpg on the interstate. It would have been better except for the 20 mph headwinds. When I go down to the coast through the rolling hills of south Georgia running 65 mph, I get around 23 mpg. Towing the loaded flatbed, I drop to about 15 mpg. In contrast, my 2011 got 15 on my daily drive, 20-21 highway and 11-13 towing the same flatbed.

With the 2015, the mileage range on my EVIC shows 620 after a fillup (highway). The most I have run so far is 600. I don't like to run it that low but in North and South Carolina, a lot of the stations don't have the credit card pumps and I don't like to leave the card inside while I fuel. So this last trip, I was getting a little desperate to find fuel on the backroads heading to Elizabeth City, NC.

Hope this helps. Sorry I can't help on the 3.73 but there shouldn't be a big difference. I like the added power of the 2015 and the mileage boost over my 2011 is quite surprising.

Bought my truck in Idaho and drove to Texas on interstates 70-80 mph. Started out at 14.5 mpg now averaging 18-18.5. Hoping it continues to get better, only has 2200 miles on it. Headed back to Alaska in a week so should be well broken in by the time I get home.

My average Mpg's on my 2013 have been running between 17-19 local driving I see around 450 miles on a tank. I don't let it run too low between fill ups. Last year I towed my 24' boat from Ny to the Fla keys. I averaged 13.5-14.5. I have the 3.42 gears and found that the truck wanted to run around 70 mph for the best mpg's. I know "ST" tires are not rated for speeds over 65 but I was plotting my fuel burn to see the best range at what speed. My 05 had the 3.73 gears and the "sweet spot was right at 64-66 mph. At that speed the truck would give 15.5-16.5 Unless there was a good head wind.
On the 13 when I run bobtail and behave speed wise it give 21-23 all day long. The 3.42 gears are a bit tall when towing if you find your self running lower than 62 drop down to 5th and you'll see the Mpg's get a wee bit better.

Hey Dan.....just click on my Fuelly link below for around 172 fillups on my '14 RAM 3500 Crew Cab DRW w/3.73's and Aisin.
Not sure why others with 2500's or 3500 SRW's with 3.42's posted their numbers as you asked for info from 3.73 equipped trucks..... different beasts and different weights.....more tires & wheels and fatter hips.

If you hover your pointer over the "Note" section...you'll find detailed information for that specific tank.

Cause I was stupid I guess. I didn't catch the 3.73 note until I posted and couldn't delete. I do have 3.42s but I had 3.73s in my 2011. Maybe that clears it up a little. That's why I put the mileage for both in my post. It gives an idea of the difference I have seen between the two.

Dan, There are delete tunes out there but do you really want to void your warrantee? You do have DEF on the truck don't you? That's not a bad system, and there are some emission legal tuners that might help MPG, but again, might have an effect on warrantee. I would bet that you are going to be around 17mpg, you've got 6 tires on the ground and your not light. The single best thing for better MPG is slow down. There is a big difference between 60mph and 70 mph, and its not as much about the gears as the fact that it takes a lot more energy to move 9,000lbs 70mph than 60mph. My 2011 with 3.73 is between 1-2mpg. You need to bring it out so I can check it out. I'll show you have to save the settings for the mirrors flipped out AND in. I am off work till the 23rd so I am home most of the time.

No I do not want to void my warranty. Yes I do have DEF on the truck. I am just concerned about the DPF plugging up and have to pay for a new one in the future. Did not know about the mirrors. What about the gauges in the dash? Are the ones I asked about avail? PM sent. Thanks bro.

As per my signature truck I am getting 16(=/-.5) running around locally mty, although it is 12 miles to the nearest store. Last weekend I towed 1000 miles mostly flat land to Ocalla Fla and back running all stop and go back roads and got 12.5 by the pencil.. As for range I have a 60 gal RDS tank that I can only draw 45 out of and 52 factory.. I do NOT know how far I can go???? I

was up over 1300 miles with the factory just below 1/2 when I saw cheap fuel and filled up!!!

Nice looking truck and tank combo.

That is a nice looking truck. I really like the tank. That is the style I want for my truck, except I would like to have toolbox combo. I found one on Amazon that is 100 gallons. I believe it is a UWS fuel tank.

Dan

That one has about 8 inches of storage on top.. could use about a foot!!! You can see the seam on the end.. This is just how it was set up on the dealers lot.. If I had started from scratch I would have done it a little different:(
