I am negotiating with my company to purchase a new 2014 4X2 2500 regular cab with a 8' utility bed, and was questioned about MPG for the CTD optioned power plant. I can't compare my 3500 (check sig) to a new truck. They will compare it to a similarly equipped Ford pickup, they like Fords, but it's not a accident that they own them with the 7.3.
I want to compare apples to apples so any input would be welcomed, the truck will probably weigh in @ 10K GVW, also, it will be the 3:42 rear end.

Well, I have a utility bed, but it's on a '10 5500 4 door 4x4 auto. Truck has 120K miles on it and has never gotten over 10 mpg. I know my setup is different than what you're looking at. But, since no one else has responded, I figured I'd throw it out there.

I Have a 3500 quad cab with an 8 ft flatbed and am getting between 15 and 16 local non interstate driving. it is 15 miles from my house in the country to town for grocerys and 50 miles yo the city for doctors appts etc.

Thanks, my 3500 C&C gets around 15-17 MPG HWY at @ 10K GVW, but it's a different setup than the 2500, look at my signature. Also your rear diff is 4:88 I believe and is heavier in weight empty than my 3500 C&C.
