MPG on 555 for 1495 miles

Just filled up right to the top (what a pain) to get the absolute correct #. Used 63. 228 gallons for a 23. 64 mpg. This was to May Maddness and back driving around 70, including the stop and go in Vegas. What an engineOo. Oo. Oo.

I just completed a cross country trip last week and had a chance to check my MPG. I was not towing anything, I had no load, and I was the only person in the vehicle. All MPG calculations were by hand and I filled the fuel tank to the top of the neck (took a lot of patience and squeezing). BTW the cheapest diesel I purchased was $1. 49/gal in Kentucky.



This was all freeway driving. I set the cruise control on 1850 rpm which is about 63-65 mph in 6th gear.



I ran the first tank from full until the low fuel lamp came on:



752 miles, 29. 429 gals = 25. 55 MPG



The second run was intentionally a shorter distance but again filled to the brim at start and finish:



312 miles, 11. 806 gals = 26. 43 MPG



The third run was as above:



469 miles, 16. 321 gals = 28. 73 MPG



Yes, I'm very pleased!

Sure, I got that beat, I get aroud 30 mpg, but only when driving down hill with a stiff tailwind, while I'm getting towed !!!!



Those 2WD's are amazing... ... ... ... ... . LOL

I've been averaging 19. 5 mpg with 13K on the od.

Maybe the front hubs we are waiting on will bring it up close to 26. :-laf

Yes my truck is a 4X4. I use the cruise most all the time. I paid a low of 199. 9 on Wednesday and a high of 225. 9 in Vegas. Here in Idaho it's around 205. 9. Why more for diesel in the warm weather that mid grade gasoline?

I continue to get 16. 5, 16. 8 mpg hand calculated. Just hit 14K. Mostly highway/some city.

I am getting 19. 5 mpg, 11,000 K. What a great truck.

Average about 21 MPG at 36K. Mostly highway, some stop and go. This truck just keeps getting better.
