Going from my current 33/12. 50/ 16. 5's back to stock 235/85/16's, how much do you guys think my MPG's will increase, all other things being equal, driving habits, type, etc. Been hitting 18. 3-19. 5 now, would 21-22 be out of the question? TIA!!!
I sure don't think 20-21 would be out of line 22 might be pushing it, I had an old timer that drove lots of pickup miles and sold them too tell me that being a dually costs you 1 mpg and 4X4 costs you 1-2, with the trucks I've owned (of all types) I'd say he's probably right, I widh I got your mileage!!! let us know how you do
It will depend on the tires rolling resistance. If you are going to Michelin stocky type with the tread design that was on it new, IMO you will see an increase in MPG.
If you get Toyo MTs, in a stocky size, forget about an increase in MPG.
Haven't done it yet, might buy my buddys "old" wheels and tires he took off his trailer, same tires I have now BFG A/T's. , on 16x6 wheels. This morning I stood back and said to myself. . " damn, these tires look awesome on here right now, do I really want to take them off?":-laf
