Fuel Mileage

Bought my 93 D350 Dually CC 3. 54 5-spd in Jul

2001. Get a solid 21-22 on the highway with

cruise contol set to 70mph (A/C doesn't seem to

have any affect on MPG) mostly in the delta flatlands . Around town seems to be

17-18 depending on use of liberal foot fogger.

Planning to upgrade to 4" exhaust, 14 CM

turbo housing, POD injectors, K&N filter, opening

up filter housing, advancing timing in the

1. 35-1. 5 area. Want to rebuild front end and fix

the cowl cracks prior to upgrades though.

So So mileage

It could always be worse. I just got a '91 w/ 186k same auto as yours but with 4:10s so far only run 2 tanks of fuel and got 16 all around. I just put a 4" exhaust on it this weekend, we'll see if it improves mpg. Even if it doesn't it's got more spunk.

Update, I had 'tuned' my setup so that I was getting about 19 MPG around town.

Then, I put in the POD injectors. I now get an average of 16. 4 MPG around town. When I did the injectors my timing was increased to 15* advance and I have been able to adjust the pump back down a bit to help with smoke,, and it still hums along pretty good.

GTRAG 5spd manual.

17mpg around town, no load.

22mpg highway, no load.

Worst case 11. 5mpg with loaded 14,000# GN trailer and heavy hill climbing.

Mileage didn't change after mods. :)

I get 23/24 mpg on a daily basis, and 25 + on a trip. Most of my driving is with no load.

91 (non-intercooled) D250 5 spd,3. 54 axle, 85 series tires.

I just bought a 92 W-250 Club Cab 4spd auto about 2 months ago bone stock w/ 130,000 I'm still in the learning curve but I have found if I can get away with running straight #2 the mpg does better. My best has been 18. 8 and the worst 13. 4 in my last pickup 75 Dodge W-200 Club Cab 4X4 440 w/ 727 auto the 6 mpg was killing me so I put Energy Release in the transmission crank case transfer case and diffs and it seemed to help I'm new to this computer techno stuff too! So any ideas to squeeze more mpg's would help me as well. I run cow trucks part time 379-127 Pete w/ 550 HP Cat and 18 spd 100,000# loads and seemed to have better power and mpg running good quality #2 in that too. I try to get fuel at truck stops where they move a lot of fuel usually it's fresher do to the volume moved

19. 5 empty, around town - 21 steady 65 on fwy... 16. 6 mixed mountain/flat towing 7000 lb 5th wheel RV - see sig for mods. It's been quite clear over time that 4WD and 4:11's can REALLY drop mileage FAST on ALL brand trucks...
