what does every one else get with their early dodges. . with autos. 727 3spd
i run a 89 307 rears 1 ton srw 4x4 stock engine with some recent mods i did k&n cone filter (no factory airbox), wide open exhaust no muffler just 5" pipe exit side of bed from before muffler. . i just got truck recently about 4 tanks ago haha. . 125k on it. . i have not gotten any good mpg. . 15. 1 mpg and 13. 3. . sucks i think i need to swp to a stick transmission. . 6 spd or something i have no tach dso i can't give ya rpm at cruise... what is the average for a truck with my specs. . i plan on bombing it soon.

My '93 1-ton 4X4 Club Cab 5 speed with 4. 10's has gotten no better that 14. 5 and averages 13. 5 PERIOD. This has been the case from bone stock to current status. The mods have NOT affected mileage but sure have put some power in POWER RAM.

My 93 2 wheel drive with auto and 4. 10 rear gets about 20 empty on the freeway, about 18 around town. When towing about 6000 lbs, average about 12. I don't drive easy, especially since the mods. Love to feel that push into the seat! #ad

Before I got my '89 totaled for me, it was getting about 18 to 20 mpg. Dropped down from 21 to 23 when the state went to "clean-burn diesel" That was in a 1 ton 4x2. I picked mine up a little when the pump shop replaced the worn out shaft bushing. They said not only was it leaking but it was also throwing off the pump's performance.

I get about 590 to 600 miles out of a topped off tank on ALL highway travel. . around town milage i can go about 450 if i'm lucky... cuz' i'm flintstoning it around all the time at stop lights. . with all this extra power though it's still gets awesome milage. . not much different than stock milage

I averaged 20 in the 92 I sold my mom. Shifter in the wrong place. Need to be on floor. 2wd club cab dually, auto, 3. 55. Got 22-24 all hwy

I just had a thought. Would a bad lift pump decrease mpg? When the one went out on my 92, I was doing a mix of big and small loads, empty, too, so mpg varied. If the pump was not getting it to the inj pump, would it cause air to get in system, or just no pump hard enough? Mine is leaking a little, and I have the same problem. Any thoughts on mythought?

My overall mileage on my '93 for the past 127k is 18. 34 with a high of 23. 65 empty at 55mph and a low of 9. 9 towing at 65mph into a 35mph headwind. Most of these numbers are with the Getrag transmission. Since my switch to the NV4500 it seems slightly better. I'm running 3. 54 in the rear diff. and am 100% synthetic on all lubricants.

I used to get 18. 5 mpg before the 4" lift and 34" tall tires... now I get 16. 9 mpg, still pretty good IMO.

I'm getting 19-20 @ 70-75, 22-23 @ 62, and
twice with a tailwind 25 @ 58mph(on cruise control). I wonder if there's more mpg to be had with optimized pump timing?

Around town stop/go I get 17. 8 to 18. 8 mpg.
Highway is better at around 19. 5
This is all running empty. If I get a little heavy footed around town then its down to about 17mpg. I'm still tweaking to get the right combo for overall performance and economy. (I think thats an oxymoron)Kinda like military intelligence. j/k

I used to get 20. 7 mpg religiously on my 92 W-250 no matter if it was highway or in town solo. When towing a 26ft travel trailer I got around 17 mpg. I have recently installed a tall camper shell which has cut my everyday mileage down to about 18 mpg solo. This is with a 5 spd 3:54 and 300K

I have kept track of all my fill-ups and mileage since I bought the truck in 1992. Average mpg (US) is 18. 21 - most of my miles are put on aroung town. Best highway miles (empty) 22. 29 (65-75 mph).

About 21 MPG combined city and highway. Hauling my tag-a-long trailer about 18. Not having OD on an auto probably eats your mileage.

I was getting 14. 5 to 16. 1 when I had the 3speed in warm weather. Just finished my first tank on the 4 speed and got about 19(speedo quit working for about 130 miles) running in -12 to +30 degree weather running back and forth to work. Can't wait to get this baby on the highway again.
