Hey guy's Im looking for some info to help a friend out he has a jeep and I've been telling him to put a 4bt in it and his is almost ready to but asked me what kind of MPG they are getting and I didnt have an answer so, Guy's what kind of MPG are you jeep guy's seeing with the conversion?

Mpg

There was a guy on here who put the 4bt in an International Scout- 36 MPG NOT BAD! The Jeep would get at least that with "normal" tires.

there is a guy that was at a local jeep show with a scrambler that had a 4bt... said he gets a solid 40 mpg if he drives it normally...

Not a Jeep, But my 1943 Dodge Carryall, 4BTA, NV-4500, NP-205, 4. 89 ring and pinions at the end of a 3411 mile trip average was 25. 9115 mpg. My curb weight is 7300#

Wow, that is a very nice build. I've had that one bookmarked for some time. I think there is an orange YJ floating around somewhere with a 4bt as well. I have a bunch of questions to ask but we should start a new thread for that... to keep this one on topic.

The mid-to-high 20's was after the pump was turned up, correct? This was town driving? Did mileage increase during highway driving?

It would get about 30 on the highway if you were being nice to it, but it was sooo much fun to see the look on peoples faces when you leave a big black cloud out the tailpipe :) when you lay into it!
