My milege is the same as JBone. Just got back from FLA. (to N. C. ) running 75 to 80 mph on I-95, pulling 5-9 psi of boost, EGT running 800* (maybe a shade on over 900* on uphill pulls) and 16 mpg was the best I could do. I was running bobtail. The best mpg I've got was 18. 5. 2001. 5 ETH/DEE. Old Man.

19 at 75; 20 at 65, 20 local. Totally stock 94 5-speed 2WD, 3. 54, air on. Uniroyal 235-85. Rotella blue in engine, Amsoil in transmission and rear.

What gears do you have? I drove to Fla and back in Feb. Didn't have a lot of miles on the truck. I didn't do much better. It's gotten a little better. The AFE mega cannon gave me about 1 mpg. See my sig to see what I have. Jeff:cool:

I get 20-21 in town and 23-24 onthe road when I can keep my foot out of it. just put on Genos muffler eliminator looks like that will help mpg up about 1mpg, but it is harder to keep my foot out of it now. I have found that my mileage drops above 65mph and cold weather drops it 2-3mpg. have 3. 55 gears about 7500 miles on truck. plan to Amsoil transmission and rear end soon. Had a 92 w/5spd that avd 24mpg and got as high as 27 but that was easy to keep your foot out of because it didn't do any thing.

Jeff, I bet that snow plow came in handy in South Florida! Just lower it and use it as an air dam; that ouhta improve your mileage!:D

Think what your mpg's would be at a lower rate of travel!!!

Once i hit 22. 3 with 235 mich's and 410 gears 2 whl- dual's Hwy 1 from interstate 74 (oh/in)border to I 69 , two lane road .

A jet polit told me a few years back if you are in a train /plane/bullet/rocket--once you break the 55 mpg mark anything over that takes 1/10 mpg and one more hp per each mile per hr. I did a mpg test(SAE) back in 94 for a major tire mfg"er (brand against brand) then speed and it proved out in the real world. .

Another thing-tail gate or no tail gate test--place one empty fuel container --Or - leaf's front of the bed and at the rear of the bed and see which are still there 5 or 500 miles later---If you leave the gate on both containers will still (rear) be there only because the container can't get over the gate--remove /open the gate and it is gone in less than 1 mile... . you would wounder how they insist the gate willnot drop your mps????

Where is the logo for the guy (advertisement) behind you ,if the gate is not there????

jsimpson, My parents live in Mulberry FL. You would of thought it was going to snow according to them. We had a good time though. Hope to get back down again someday. Jeff

The first time I came down here, I was wearing shorts and a pocket T, and I was amazed to see people wearing overcoats with temps in the sixties. Now I wear a sweatshirt when it's in the sixties.
