What type of MPG would I get withthe following type of truck.

3500 HO, 6speed, single wheel, quad cab, swb

3:73 gears

Thanks

Thats a tough ? roadbyte. You could let 2 or 3 diff. people drive that trk. , and they would prolly come up with diff. #'s. I have that same trk. with drw, and get anywhere from 17 to 21 mpg, depending on conditions and how I drive it. When new, I got about 14, 15, I have 32K+ on it now, and I think its still improving.

I have not been able to get better than 15 with mine. I only have 3000 miles on it and live in Minnesota though. I hope it will improve when temps warm up and I get some more miles on it.

I am getting 16-19 depending on warm up time and if I am pulling or not. I only have 1500 miles so far.

I've never double checked the overhead display with a calculator and since it's been giving me good news , I probably wont ;). That being said, the worst I've ever seen is 18 and I usually get about 19. 6 commuting. From what I've read here, you can expect another 2-3 MPG w/o 4WD. :D

Prairie Dog,

My trip computer is consistantly off by a half to one mpg. If yours is the same that would be anywhere from 17-19, which is still quiet respectable.

My overhead computer consistently tells me 18. 1-18. 2. To check it, I recently started keeping track of mileage and how much fuel I put in. In the last two tanks, I actually got 17mpg and 16mpg. That's in almost total rush-hour traffic driving, barely getting up to operating temps and with very few highway miles. I have just over 2K on my truck. So, the computer is not right but I'm still happy with the mpg.

:D :D

Mine is only a 2500 reg cab, so it will be a tad lighter than your 3500 quad. We are in the deep thrawls of winter here consistant below zero temps and lots of snow. I spend alot of time in 4x4 and with combination of around town and highway miles. The trip computer consistantly post's #'s between 17. 2 to 18. 6. If Iwas to convert that to Canadian (imperial) it would range in the early 20's. There is 7600 K's on the truck. A good warm operating temp has been hard to acheive in really cold temps even with the grill covers.

I'am pleased, very pleased. Last year the 95 Ram with the 360 gaser was averaging 10 mpg. Pete

99.9 MPG!!

My 03 got 99. 9 miles per gallon! (after resetting the trip computer and coasting down a long hill in neutral)

Seriously though, mileage average (per the trip computer) over the last 250 miles has remained around 20. 3, but the truck just has 500 miles total.

I consistantly get 20 MPG (figured with calculator) I dont think the computer is accurate. After insatalling the Edge EZ my computer says 25-26 MPG I WISH!!!! My first tank with the EZ was 20. 5 MPG

I think the Edge EZ only modifies the pulse signals to the solenoid actuated injectors. The modification most likely occurs between the ECM and the injectors. This is downstream of the trip computer so the trip computer no longer has accurate information to base fuel consumption computations. It thinks the engine is only getting X amount of fuel when it's really getting Y amount (Y is greater than X due to the EZ).

I was really hoping that the new boxes could be interfaced such that the trip computer would still be dealing with accurate information. Kinda makes the computer obsolete now.

Oh well... glady take the extra power over an accurate computer.

These are actual figures, not from the overhead computer.

First Tank-20. 63

Second Tank-20. 41

Third Tank-20. 15

Fourth Tank-20. 87

Fifth Tank-18. 01 (196 of 389 miles was towing an app. 3,000 lb. boat)

Sixth Tank-17. 5 (99 of 391 miles towing an app. 11,000 lb. 5th wheel)

Seventh Tank-12. 75 (176 of 190 miles towing an app 11,000 lb. 5th wheel)

Truck has slightly less than 3,000 total miles and may get a very small improvement as it continues to break in. Yes, I am very pleased with the fuel mileage. Towed the boat with an old 1975 Chevrolet 350 for years and would get around 8 mpg, so this is much better.

Parents truck has seen a low of 16. 5mpg and a high of 22. 1mpg. These figures are calculated and are not read from the overhead thingy. Typically around town it gets 16. 5mpg - 18. 5mpg and on the highway @70mph 19 - 22mpg. Hope this helps.

Thanks

Getting 20. 5 with 1100 miles on the ticker... . :D :D Oo. Oo. Oo.

Drove 200 miles on I-80 today, varied between 65 and 90. The overhead showed around 16. 4 mpg, actual calculated was 14. 8 mpg. About 70 miles was in town. It's getting AS GOOD of milage as my old '01 2500 SO 5 speed!! I'll bet it will do BETTTER!

My truck is only on its second tank. The first tank, running #1 fuel with Power Service additive, was 16. 4 mpg. Some of this was in 4X4 due to snow and ice. This was also a combination of highway and city driving. I hope it gets better.

My 95 12V got 21.

My 00 24V got 19

I usually gain about 1 to 2 mpg when we go back to #2 fuel.

Twice I have got 21. ? it usually is running 19. ?or in the 20. ? Have 11000+on it now. I don't remember all the detail cause I am in my VW today. Filled it up yesterday at the highest I have ever payed for diesel 1. 62(Shell)around here. Got the best mpg at 53:D
