Hey all,

As you know, i have not had the best of luck with my 93 topping 15 mpg. Well, I turned the full power screw BACK, and while it is a hair slower to peak boost of 21 psi, it still has about the same get up and go as before. I have gotten 16. 5 mpg on the last few tanks. ANd I reset the timing. Nothing scientific (lacked $150+ to get it "professionally" done; with apologies to the guys here who are NOT after a quick buck), but the guy at the shop left marks where it was before, and I realigned the marks. It runs smoother, faster, and takes about 2-4 psi less boost to keep the same speed on the same stretch of road. No more roughness at 2200+ rpm, or 18+psi. It will now keep up with the black demon I sold my mom. No mpg figures as of yet, but will keep you all posted. THanks for all the ideas. Seems like I may be able to put off the pump, and I will NOT go back to the shop that did my timing to a less than optimal setting. THey were so adamant that my timing was off, and real slick about it, too, failing to mention nothing else, or downplaying my input. And they wanted a $30 "shop fee," which they failed to tell me about, until I pulled out $240 exactly. I have tried getting money back from shops before, to no avail, so I will be placing a call to the BBB tomorrow.

I had talked with the guys at a shop in Greeley, and they were real polite and patient, and suggested alternatives, and a lot of "it could be... "s I have yet to go there for service, but they will be the first place I go to if I DO need anything done I cant do.

PS- Mr Moderator, let me know if I can post the names of the businesses I mentioned. It is not as much for revenge as to forewarn others who may be in need of a decent shop in Northern Colorado.
