I haven't been able to find any decent rear (or front for that matter) mud flaps for my new 2001 3500 4x4. The only thing listed in the MOPAR catalog is without a photo so I have no idea if I'd want 'em or not.

All I really want are some nice, basic black flaps. No fancy ridges or logos or anything.

I found a set at Pep Boys for $25 which were advertised as "anti-spray" which was nice, but I don't think they had enough rubber for mounting, and I didn't much want to drill holes in my new truck.

Any suggestions?

Rob

Rob, the ones in the dealer catalog are just about what you said you wanted. Nothing fancy just a good basic mud flap. your local dealer should order a set in for you to look at without the obligation to buy. Pete

I have regular black mudflaps that came from the dealer when I bought the truck. They say Dodge on them, but it is black also and difficult to see. They line up with holes that are already there and come with all the necessary hardware. I bought a set back in 94 for my 94 3500 and I think I paid 35 bucks for the pair.

Cummins sells these through their website.
Just over $30. 00 for the pair.

Thanks guys! I just ordered up a set of the black ones from Mopar4Less. They should be here probably Thursday. Got the molded fronts too.

With luck, tomorrow I'll have my Rancho RS9000s for the front and some ProStep Nerf Bars as well (there's a 4WheelParts retail store in Oakland that I'll stop by on the way to the dyno).

I like the Dodge/Cummins mudflaps posted by gitchesum.

It shows $31. 95 for a pair, but I can't figure out what a pair is. Is the "pair" mentioned a front and rear, or is the "pair" 2 rear mudflaps. If it is front and rear, then you obviously have to buy to "pairs" to get the set for the rear wheels. I don't particularly want the front flaps, so, does anyone know where to buy just a set of 2 rear mudflaps?

I hope it's for a pair, because I have 2 sets on order (backorder) from Cummins. They are supposed to ship tomorrow. I can tell you for sure when they arrive.

Rob,

Let us know how you like them, how they fit etc. This is what I will be needing when it gets build. I probably would put the chrome looking piece at the bottom to hold down the sail problem.

Happy Camper:

Will do. I hope they'll be here soon... I've seen how dirty these trucks get without flaps.

Sounds like we have the same rig. Mine's also a silver 3500 QC 4x4 ETH/DEE. Now if my new digital camera would show up, I could post pix.

I bought the mopar ones and got some flap weights from Peterbilt in town. The chrome on the bottom looks good. One trick... don't mount them as in the instructions. If you do then they will be like a foot off the ground and look retarded. What I did was put a cinder block below where they would hang, let them rest on the block and then just screw those bad boys in. It looks much bettter that way.

I think the picture shows mudflaps for both the 2500 and 3500. That would be my best guess. If you click on the picture for the 2500 mudflaps you get the same picture as the 3500.

No... no... you put the cinderblock on its side, not standing up.

RobG,
If you use chrome mud flap weights on your Mopar flaps, you will need to install your flaps with bolts--not the plastic rivets that come with the flaps. The weights on the flaps will pull out the plastic rivets. I have mine on with bolts and no problem. 2 other TDR members who have installed their flaps with the rivets have had them come loose and had to go back with bolts. If you don't put on the weights--no problem.

Bill
