I was wondering abou that hitch!!! Man, what a beefy looking setup. I was wondering who made it. Now I see you are in Germany. Don't suppose I'll see one like that in the states I second the vote for a nice looking rear on your truck.

check out John's second photo closely. Exhaust photo shows pretty good detail of the flap and metal. Alot closer shot that NW Custom has on their site... ..... but I bet if you asked them they'd send you a close up

David, this rear hitch is made by a company based not far from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - I have repeated the relative embedded link from my profile below - I found the company to be reputable and supply the product at a fair price and they also shipped it overseas to me in England at the time - beware of other airhitches - this is the real deal (more info on klones is available on their website).

I like it because it discourages tailgaters big time and has multiple ridehight adjustments, plus it is set up to complement the Class V hitch with WD bars (but not had to use them yet). Came complete with 2inch and 2. 5 inch balls so everything's covered. If you've towed a big RV with some sort of airride facility, you'll know what it's like - you shouldn't really be over-aware of the trailer behind your CTD. They do airhitches for both class 4 and class 5 receiver mounts, plus gooseneck and 5th wheel - you'll be spoiled for choice. Only downside is the cost, but if enough people were interested you might get a Group Purchase going with preferential pricing? If you like I can take some "weathered pictures" (top/left/right/rear sides)in a couple of days, when I'm back in England, to see how its held up over time.



If I ever trade my Lance 1130 slide-in for a 5th wheel, I will definitely go back to these guys for an air 5th wheel hitch.



My only gripe is that after almost two years exposed to the elements, the finish is starting to look a bit tired..... I understand now that the factory has improved the finish with some good quality, durable powder coating, which I will be doing myself later this year. The whole thing comes apart quite easily and can be reassembled just as easily. Hope this helps... .

Thanks for the reply. the Web site is very helpful. I'll definately be looking into this hitch for a replacement. I'll be upgrading to class 5 in the future. Also may need a goose neck in the even nearer future! Thanks for your time and editorial.

Class V Air hitch up close & personal

Okay David/Michael - all angles covered in these pictures below - this is the full set. You'll see what I meant earlier about the finish being weathered, but the factory finish is apparently a lot more durable now.

Hey John, excellent pictures and write-up; of course! Say, did you ever post or submit that article about the Firestone Airbags with the Roadmaster XX's. If your did, I missed it, otherwise I'm still waiting. Oh, and thanks for the info on your sound system (and other goodies). That hasta rock major!!!



P. S. I was thinking about posting a pictuer of my truck's rear profile, but since the originator of this thread drives a 2500, I didn't think it would be appreciated. Then the comment about gorgeous and a wife's rear end. Well, I'm just not going there!

I just knew this was going to come around and bite me again - I promised faithfully that I would do it and I have the material all put together with some pictures etc. up close and personal - for inclusion in the quarterly magazine. In the meantime, let me now collate what I already have and then post in a new thread BEFORE the end of February (2003)

Mud Flaps/Fender Flairs

Gents:



I installed Warn fender flairs on my 3500, then I installed Goes mud flaps front and rear. The rear ones i ordered with an installation kit, which I modified to drop 3 inches more than desigens. I installed the anti-sail brackets as well.



FYI: the Mopar ones are very good, very stiff and simple to install.



These trucks look really tough with a full set of mud flaps.
